Set to cast a spell over Australia, Glinda the Good Witch of the North, Kristin Chenoweth, comes south for her Australian debut in June at the 2013 Adelaide Cabaret Festival. Presented by Arts Centre Melbourne in association with Adelaide Cabaret Festival, Kristin Chenoweth will take to the stage at Arts Centre Melbourne's Hamer Hall at 8pm Wednesday 12 June as part of a national tour to Adelaide, Sydney and Brisbane. Kristin Chenoweth will enchant audiences at this once-in-a-lifetime concert traversing pop, opera and the Broadway classics that have made her a star.

Grammy Award winner Mika's latest album The Origin of Love was released in October 2012, and it includes the track, 'Popular Song.' The tune samples 'Popular' from Broadway's WICKED, originally sung by Kristin Chenoweth, and in the video below, watch Chenoweth herself join Mika onstage to sing the tune at Le Poisson Rouge last night.

On April 11, 2012, Broadway legend Joel Grey celebrated his 80th birthday with a special private party hosted by his longtime PR firm, O&M Co., at The McKittrick Hotel's Manderley Bar (also home to SLEEP NO MORE), following that evening's performance of ANYTHING GOES. BWW's scoopers got their hands on a cell phone shot video of the tireless star entertaining the crowd with another unforgettable performance of 'Willkommen' from CABARET. Where he gets the energy from, we don't know.

Today, April 11, Broadway legend Joel Grey celebrates his 80th birthday! Grey originated the role of the Master of Ceremonies in the Broadway musical Cabaret in 1966 for which he won the Tony Award. Additional Broadway credits include Come Blow Your Horn (1961), Stop the World - I Want to Get Off (1962), Half a Sixpence (1965),George M! (1968), Goodtime Charley (1975), The Grand Tour (1979), Chicago (1996), and Wicked (2003). Grey won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in March 1973 for his performance as the Master of Ceremonies in the 1972 film version of Cabaret.

Happy Birthday, Stephen Schwartz! In a career spanning over four decades, Schwartz has written such hit musicals as Godspell (1971), Pippin (1972) and Wicked (2003). He has also contributed lyrics for a number of successful films, including Pocahontas (1995), The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1996), The Prince of Egypt (1998; music and lyrics) and Enchanted (2007). Schwartz has won the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Lyrics, three Grammy Awards, three Academy Awards and has been nominated for six Tony Awards.
