Westport Country Playhouse stages the classic comedy, 'The Show-Off,' described as a funny, surprising, and moving story of a family in upheaval when their youngest daughter becomes engaged to a brash loudmouth, playing now through June 29. Cast in principal roles are 2013 Drama Desk Award winner Jayne Houdyshell as the imperious Mrs. Fisher, and Drama Desk nominee Will Rogers as Aubrey Piper, the show-off of the title. BWW brings you exclusive photo coverage as the cast of THE IRISH CURSE meets the press! Dan Butler (best known as Bulldog on 'Frasier'), Roderick Hill (Butley on Broadway opposite Nathan Lane), Scott Jaeck ('Charmed'), Brian Leahy ('The Junior League of Superheroes'), and Austin Peck ('Days of Our Lives') will star in the Off-Broadway premiere of Martin Casella's acclaimed comedy THE IRISH CURSE at the Soho Playhouse, 15 Vandam Street (between Avenue of the Americas & Varick Street). Performances begin on St. Patrick's Day, March 17th. Opening Night is set for Sunday, March 28th. Matt Lenz will direct.

Westport Country Playhouse will reunite six audience favorites---playwright Alan Ayckbourn, director John Tillinger, and cast members Paxton Whitehead, Cecilia Hart, Geneva Carr and Carson Elrod---in the classic comedy, 'How the Other Half Loves,' playing July 28 through August 15. Over the past two seasons, the popular team brought to the Playhouse the smash hit comedies 'Time of My Life' and 'Relatively Speaking.' Darren Pettie and Karen Walsh will round out the cast of 'How the Other Half Loves.'

Playwrights Horizons (Tim Sanford, Artistic Director; Leslie Marcus, Managing Director) continues its 2008/2009 Season with the New York premiere of THE SAVANNAH DISPUTATION, a new play by Evan Smith (Psych and The Uneasy Chair at Playwrights Horizons, Remedial English for the Young Playwrights Festival at Playwrights Horizons, Servicemen at The New Group). This will be Mr. Smith's fourth collaboration with the theater company. Directed by Tony Award winner Walter Bobbie (Chicago, New Jerusalem), in his Playwrights Horizons debut, the production will began previews on Friday, February 6, 2009 with an Opening Night set for Tuesday, March 3 at 7PM. The limited engagement will run through Sunday, March 15 at Playwrights Horizons' Mainstage Theater (416 West 42nd Street).

On Tuesday, February 3rd, beloved star of stage and screen Nathan Lane, celebrated his birthday at The Cafe Carlyle in Manhattan by taking in a performance of Christine Ebersole's acclaimed cabaret concert. Ms. Ebersole sang 'Happy Birthday' to Mr. Lane in the style of Marilyn Monroe. Also in attendance at the event were Rupert Everett, Michael Blakemore, Rob Ashford, Chris Noth, Anne Kaufman Schneider (playwright George S. Kaufman's daughter), Scott Wittman and Andrea Martin.
