BWW Review: TRULY MADLY FAMOUSLY by Rebecca Serle
by Bonnie Lynn Wagner - May 9, 2017

Paige Townsen is living the dream. She's been plucked out of obscurity and thrust into Hollywood the moment she's cast as August in the upcoming blockbuster movie LOCKED. LOCKED is the hottest book trilogy out there, and fans are clamoring to see it on the big screen. Having the number one movie at the box office and having these characters be household names means everyone knows Paige's face--and the faces of her co-stars, Rainer Devon and Jordan Wilder. But it also means that the trio is constantly hounded by paparazzi and that their lives are under a microscope. If one picture takes something out of context, it can change lives. When the wrong picture is revealed to the tabloids, Paige's life turns upside down in an instant. (more...)

5th Wall Theater Company presents RUSTBELT: 1984
by BWW News Desk - May 8, 2017

In theatre, we often see the physical world thrown out of balance. RUSTBELT:1984, written by Damon Arrington and being presented as a staged reading by Fifth Wall Theatre at the historical Hofheimer Building, is no exception. RUSTBELT: 1984 is the first installation in a series of three plays using the visceral world of the theatre to shake up social consciousness regarding water quality and policy.  This is not a dry night of statistics, but rather a satirical tale told through theatre, multi-media, music, and dance with the intent to encourage conversation.  (more...)

BWW Review: THE OUTLIERS by Kimberly McCreight
by Bonnie Lynn Wagner - May 22, 2017

THE OUTLIERS does a good job throwing readers into the mystery alongside Wylie. There is some messed up stuff going on, and she's in WAY over her head. The book also starts to answer a few questions--while at the same time handing readers even MORE questions. Do we have true answers at the end of book one? Do we have more lies due to the multiple webs of deceit still clinging to the pages? Who can we trust? We don't know, and neither does Wylie! (more...)
