Simon Stephens' HARPER REGAN to Play T. Schreiber Theatre, 5/4-6/4

On a bright autumn night in Manchester, a woman named Harper Regan walks away from her job, her home, her husband and her daughter.  The play named after her, 'Harper Regan' by English playwright Simon Stephens, stunningly reveals life on the cusp of the working class in modern British society. The author is the 2015 TONY Award-winner for best play ('The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time').  This 2008 play is a dramatic Odyssey navigating family, love and redemption.  T. Schreiber Theatre, 151 West 26th Street, will present the piece May 4 to June 4, directed by Terry Schreiber. (more...)

Richard Nelson's THE APPLE FAMILY PLAYS to Launch European Tour

The Public Theater announced today that Richard Nelson's award-winning THE APPLE FAMILY PLAYS: SCENES FROM LIFE IN THE COUNTRY will tour Europe for five weeks beginning April 23 at The Find Festival in Berlin. The other tour venues include The May International Festival in Weisbaden, Germany; The Brighton Festival in the United Kingdom; and the Vienna Festival in Austria where the tour will conclude on May 23. The tour is being produced by David Eden, Executive Producer for David Eden Productions, and co-produced and general managed by Tim Smith for Pemberley Productions. (more...)

MCC's SMOKEFALL, Starring Zachary Quinto, Begins Tonight Off-Broadway

MCC Theater welcomes film and television star Robin Tunney, making her stage debut opposite Zachary Quinto in the New York premiere of Smokefall by Noah Haidle, directed by Anne Kauffman, who directed The Nether for MCC last season to great acclaim. Smokefall will play the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street) with previews beginning tonight, February 4, 2016, and an opening night set for February 22. It is scheduled through March 13. 'Natural Life' by Eduardo Ivan Lopez tells the tale of a death row inmate convicted of murder. But unlike the heroes of 'The Exonerated,' she is guilty of the crime.
