YALE REPERTORY THEATRE (James Bundy, Artistic Director; Victoria Nolan, Managing Director) presents August Wilson's THE PIANO LESSON, directed by Liesl Tommy, at Yale Repertory Theatre (1120 Chapel Street, at York Street) January 28-February 19, 2011.
The New York Philharmonic will present Stephen Sondheim's groundbreaking Company, with an all-star cast led by Neil Patrick Harris, star of the hit television series, How I Met Your Mother, on April 7-9, 2011. The award-winning musical will be produced and directed by Lonny Price, who directed and co-produced last season's SONDHEIM: The Birthday Concert!, and will be conducted by Sondheim specialist Paul Gemignani, with the original orchestrations for a 35-piece orchestra by Jonathan Tunick. More details will be announced at a later date.
The New Orleans Ballet Association and The NOCCA Institute join in the international celebration of the centennial of a trailblazing choreographer and the father of multi-media dance theatre in the Alwin Nikolais Centennial on November 19 and 20 in three performances at NOCCA's Freda Lupin Memorial Hall. Co-presented by the New Orleans Ballet Association and The NOCCA Institute, the event features a program by one of the most versatile, innovative and influential artists of the twentieth century, performed by Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company with a special guest appearance by Tulane University's Newcomb Dance Company.

Kenny Leon's True Colors Theatre Company and Jujamcyn Theaters will present the fourth annual August Wilson Monologue Competition National finals Monday, May 3 at Broadway's August Wilson Theatre (245 W. 52nd Street). The Tony Award®-winning Signature Theatre, nationally known for its interpretation of Stephen Sondheim musicals, celebrated its 20th anniversary season by presenting Sondheim's most popular musical SWEENEY TODD, directed by Artistic Director Eric Schaeffer. The production will end its run in the 276-seat MAX Theater, April 4, 2010.
Houston Ballet will close its current production, American at Heart, featuring two ballets that are significant to the history American dance (George Balanchine's Apollo and Jerome Robbins's Fancy Free) and one work inspired by American popular culture and created specifically for an American company (Christopher Bruce's Hush, choreographed for Houston Ballet in 2006). The production will close March 21st.
Beginning March 17, DC Moore Gallery presents Mark Greenwold Secret Storm: Paintings 1967-1975. This provocative exhibition brings together, for the first time, controversial early paintings made between 1967 and 1975, as well as watercolors and drawings from the period. A catalog including an interview with the artist by Alexi Worth accompanies the exhibition.
