Peter Pan, like its namesake, is a tale which never ages. Children and adults alike have all fallen under the spell of Neverland, a place where children can fly and exciting, frightening adventures happen every day.

In 1985 Piers Chater Robinson adapted J.M. Barrie's book for the stage, and now, 25 years later, his innovative Peter Pan musical score is well known and loved, performed in professional and amateur productions worldwide and is quickly becoming the most popular musical version of Peter Pan internationally. CYT is pleased to be selected as one of the first theaters in Chicagoland to produce it!

Join all your favorite characters: Peter Pan, Wendy, John, Michael, the dastardly Captain Hook and his sidekick Smee, Tiger Lily, the Lost Boys, Pirates, Neverland Indians, Fairies, Nana the pet dog and, of course, that scary crocodile as CYT travels to Neverland like you've never experienced it before.

Currently performing at the Lyric Stage in Boston is PETER AND THE STARCATCHER, Rick Elice's (Jersey Boys, The Addams Family) theatrical prequel to Peter Pan based on the best-selling children's novel by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson. On and Off-Broadway, this high-energy, whimsical back story, directed by Alex Timbers and the late Roger Rees, took riotous, magical flight. At the Lyric, Peter barely gets off the ground.

SPOILER ALERT! Review: Despite Hiccups, PETER PAN LIVE! Thrives as Broadway Stars Shine
by Matt Tamanini - Dec 4, 2014

Growing up, my brother, sister, and I wore out our VHS recording of one of Mary Martin's TV productions of PETER PAN. Mixed in between viewings of APOLLO 13 and THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK, we learned every word to every song, and while I don't remember dancing along with the Lost Boys, there is no doubt that we could have, if asked. I've never seen the musical on stage, so, for me, PETER PAN simply belongs on TV; and producers Neil Meron and Craig Zadan spared no fiary dust in creating a magical PETER PAN that reinforced why this holiday tradition should never grow up and fly away. Despite a handful of hiccups that befall many live productions, simply put, PETER PAN LIVE! is a triumph for children young and old.

BWW Reviews: PETER PAN, JR. in Bridgeport
by Sherry Shameer Cohen - Nov 13, 2014

A lot of people have had their hands in creating Peter Pan, Jr., and the result is a wonderful show for the children. Based on the 1904 J.M. Barrie and 1953 Disney film, Peter Pan, Jr. streamlines a lot of the story and songs of the productions with which most adults are familiar. The most glaring omissions are the songs, 'I'm Flying' and 'I Won't Grow Up' and the barely visible strings of the flying effects. But this production at the Downtown Cabaret Children's Theatre more than make up for that. And, after all, most of the kids won't know what they missed, and will enjoy the show anyway.
