Two River Theater presents the world premiere of Be More Chill, a new musical with music and lyrics by Joe Iconis and book by Joe Tracz, based on the acclaimed 2004 novel by Ned Vizzini. The press opening is tonight, June 5, and performances will continue through Sunday, June 21 in Two River's Rechnitz Theater, 21 Bridge Avenue, Red Bank, NJ. The 69th Annual Tony Awards are this Sunday June 7th at 8/9c hosted by Kristin Chenoweth and Alan Cumming. It's the biggest award show of the Broadway season and it closes out a long award season for Broadway and Off-Broadway musicals and plays. We can't help but wonder what chances this year's Best Musical and Best Play nominees have of taking home the ultimate prize.

Asking For It, written and performed by Joanna Rush, under the direction of two-time Tony Award nominee Lynne Taylor-Corbett, will run two invited industry performances in New York City at Theater at St. Luke's, today, May 13th, 3PM & 8PM. Theatre at St. Luke's is located at 308 West 46th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues in New York City.

The Old Globe is delighted to welcome one of the true geniuses of the American theatre, Tony Award winner Mary Zimmerman, who makes her long-awaited San Diego directing debut with an enchanting theatrical spectacle with live music and sumptuous visuals, The White Snake, continuing the Globe's 80th Anniversary festivities as part of the Balboa Park Centennial Celebration. The Southern California Premiere of The White Snake, written and directed by Zimmerman, will run March 21 through April 26 on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Preview performances run March 21 through 25. Opening night is Thursday, March 26 at 8:00 p.m.

Playwrights Horizons, under the leadership of Artistic Director Tim Sanford and Managing Director Leslie Marcus, has announced the six productions of its 2015/2016 Season. The six new works will be presented at the theater company's home at 416 West 42nd Street. In season order, they will be:

"Eye of the Storm Eilida's Tragedy" by Elle Klass a chilling tale inspired from her time living in the mountainous Virginia terrain and the onslaught of hurricanes, she survived, flooding Florida in 2004 along with the numbers of vicious crimes seen through the media. 'One cannot unlock the Universe until they find the key to unlock themselves,' says author Klass as she delves into the psyche of one young woman who witnesses the unthinkable. About the book - A disturbance at her neighbor's house piques Eilida's curiosity. What she discovers is so shocking it sends her running through the mountainous woods during a thunderstorm. She slips on the wet ground, plummets down Mount Wilde, and slams into a large boulder beside River Freedom. Eilida is transported to Lyden, where Sunshine, a receptionist at the local paper becomes engrossed in her story. The further Sunshine delves into Eilida's life the more entangled their lives become. Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter and international music superstar Jennifer Nettles is making her Broadway debut as 'Roxie Hart' in Chicago. Nettles joins the Broadway company for a limited eight-week engagement running Monday, February 2 through Sunday, March 29, 2015 at the Ambassador Theatre (219 W. 49th St.) She will be joined by Broadway star Carly Hughes who makes her debut in the iconic role of jazz slayer Velma Kelly. Tony-and Emmy Award-winning production designer Derek McLane has received two nominations for this year's 19th annual Excellence in Production Design Awards. McLane will compete against himself in the Awards or Event Special category with his designs for the "86th Annual Academy Awards" and "Peter Pan Live!" The awards will be presented on January 31 from the International Ballroom of the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, with comedian Owen Benjamin as host.
