Join the cast of Off-Broadway's Hit the Wall, a new play written by Ike Holter and directed by Eric Hoff, with original music & music supervision by Dan Lipton, for the launch of a new talkback series immediately following the performance of the play on Wednesday, March 20, 2013. Tickets are now available for the performance that begins at 7:30pm followed by the talkback at the Barrow Street Theatre (27 Barrow Street).

Joe's Pub recently welcomed Tony Award winner Tonya Pinkins in her return to their stage for an ongoing series BRING ON THE MEN. Best known for her celebrated roles in Caroline, or Change and Jelly's Last Jam, Tonya made her Broadway debut in the original cast of Merrily We Roll Along. Broadway audiences have also delighted in her performances in Chronicle of a Death Foretold, Play On!, The Wild Party and Radio Golf, while television audiences know her from As The World Turns, All My Children, Army Wives and 24. BWW Review: St. Edward's University's MEASURE FOR MEASURE - A Strong Production of a Problem Play

Early in Measure for Measure, the wise lord Escalus says, "Some rise by sin, and some by virtue fall," a miscarriage of justice that is at the forefront of Shakespeare's infrequently produced comedy. While some of Shakespeare's characters here are sinful while others virtuous and even more are somewhere in between, St. Edward's University current production of Measure for Measure has virtues by the score, and thankfully those virtues make the play rise rather than fall.

2009 NJ State Council on the Arts' Literary Artist Fellowship Program Winners to Showcase Work in 2013

Winners of the 2009 New Jersey State Council on the Arts' Literary Artist Fellowship Program will present their work in Madison, Hoboken, Long Beach Island and Somerville over the next few months. Prose writers Iyanna Jones, Pamela Burke and Emil Draitser will present solo readings of selected stories at Monroe Arts Center on March 9, 2013 at 7:30pm. Playwright Dominique Cieri will have a reading of her play Count Down performed on March 16, 2013 at 7pm at Fairleigh Dickinson University. She also had a reading of her play The Baby Killer Play on December 18, 2012. Additionally, playwright, Pia Wilson, had a reading of her play The River Pure for Healing on December 14, 2012. Both readings were held at Fairleigh Dickinson University as part of Playwrights Theatre's FORUM Roundtable Reading Series. Poets Kathleen Graber and Peter Murphy as well as Young Adult Prose writer, Toni De Palma, will read their works at a site to be determined in Southern New Jersey. In May, prose writers Eson Kim and Roxanne (Ruchama) Feuerman will present selections from their works at a site to be determined.

InterAct Theatre Receives National New Play Network Grant

InterAct Theatre Company, a theatre devoted to producing new works, was recently named the recipient of a $10,000 grant from the National New Play Network (NNPN) to host playwright-in-residence, A. Zell Williams, during its upcoming 25th Anniversary season. InterAct is one of only three theatres in the country to receive the grant this year.
