Runway Theatre Troupe Campaigns to Help Broadway's SPRING AWAKENING Perform at 2016 Tony Awards

Runway Theatre's production of Spring Awakening will continue to sing the song of purple summer as they begin to collect donations to aid in the effort to send the cast of Deaf West's Spring Awakening to the Tony Awards. Beginning with this Friday's performance, Runway Theatre patrons will be able to donate money that will go towards allowing the Deaf West cast to perform on the 2016 Tony Awards.

Two-time Emmy and five-time Grammy Award-nominated Michael Feinstein returns to Feinstein's at the Nikko with a special celebration of Academy Award-winning lyricists Alan and Marilyn Bergman for five performances only - May 18-22, 2016. Considered one of the premier interpreters of American standards, Feinstein will perform some of the Bergman's greatest songs, including 'The Way We Were,' 'Nice N' Easy,' 'A Piece of Sky,' 'How Do You Keep the Music Playing,' among others. Alan Bergman will join Feinstein onstage nightly through the engagement. Directed and choreographed by Todd Nielsen, with musical direction by Gerald Sternbach, and starring ICT favorites Kevin Bailey (Abigail/1702),Valerie Perri (The Sweepers), Adam von Almen (The Heir Apparent) and newcomer Katheryne Penny, Closer Than Ever opens February 12at ICT's home in the Long Beach Performing Arts Center. Tony and Emmy Nominee Jerome Kass Has Died

BroadwayWorld has learned the sad news that playwright Jerome Kass has died. A Tony nominee for penning the book of the 1978 musical BALLROOM, Kass passed away in his Manhatta home on Thursday, Oct. 22 from prostate cancer. He was 78.
