This year it's the 1969 Jerry Herman musical DEAR WORLD based on the Jean Giraudoux play THE MADWOMAN OF CHAILLOT. Tonight Emmy Award winner Sally Struthers will star in the Alhambra's performance of Broadway's beloved and acclaimed, Hello, Dolly! Ms. Struthers, who's rise to acting fame began with the hit TV show, 'All in the Family', is making her first appearance at the Alhambra and joins a growing list of stars that has recently included Jamie Farr, Barry Williams and Loretta Switt. Hello Dolly was first produced on Broadway in 1964, winning ten Tony Awards, including Best Musical.
Theatre 20 announced an exciting inaugural season in a star-studded event this past Monday, January 23rd at Toronto's National Club. On Monday, May 2, 2011 The New York Pops' marks its 28th birthday with Celebrate Hope, a grand gala evening celebrating the legacy of late actor and comedian Bob Hope and honoring decades of support by Interpublic Group. The event begins at 7:00 PM with a concert at Carnegie Hall featuring a special lineup of concert artists - including Brooke Shields, Cheyenne Jackson, Christine Ebersole, Kelli O'Hara, Maurice Hines, Cartier Williams and special guest Angela Lansbury - under the baton of Music Director Steven Reineke. The New York Pops will also be joined on stage by the singers of The Camp Broadway Kids and the West Point Glee Club. Following the concert, a black tie dinner and dance will be held at the luxurious Plaza Hotel.

La Brea Avenue in Los Angeles, Dorrie Braun, Founder and Executive Director, has announced a season of musicals for 2011, which will kick off on February 11 with the Los Angeles premiere of Nunsensations! by Dan Goggin, followed by the West Coast premiere of Lust 'n Rust, The Trailer Park Musical by Frank Haney, Carol Kimball & Dave Stratton, and concluding with the rarely produced Jerry Herman musical, Dear World.
One of Orange County's newest theater companies, 3D Theatricals, will present HELLO, DOLLY! from July 9 through August 1 at the O.C. Pavilion Theatre in the Arts District of downtown Santa Ana. The hit stage and screen musical marks 3D Theatrical's fourth production for 2010. Starring in the iconic role of Dolly Levi will be Broadway vet (and L.A.-area stage favorite) Ruth Williamson (Guys and Dolls).
