Conversely, the most redeeming element can be the friendship - indeed, the love -- that guys in war have for one another, as shown in James L. Larocca's stark drama of hope and despair, PENANG. The play begins performances on July 14th, during the opening night of the Ninth Annual Midtown International Theatre Festival. Directed by Donya K. Washington and co-produced by Dana Monagan, PENANG will be performed at the WorkShop Theater's MainStage space, located at 312 West 36th Street.
The Jove's recent appearances include the 2007 Miami Improv Festival opening for The Groundlings from Los Angeles and Upright Citizens Brigade from New York City. It was their third straight year performing at the Miami Improv Festival, a collection of the nation's best Improv comedy troupes. The complete cast for the upcoming, and highly anticipated revival starring Patti LuPone and Michael Cerveris has now been anounced. Previews begin on October 3, for a November 3, 2005 opening.
