Olivier Award winning and critically acclaimed Death and the Maiden returns to London's West End in a new production, 20 years since it first premiered in 1991.



Years have passed since political prisoner, Paulina, suffered at the hands of her captor: a man whose face she never saw, but can still recall with terrifying clarity.



Tonight, by chance, a stranger arrives at the secluded beach house she shares with her husband Gerardo, a human rights lawyer. A stranger Paulina is convinced was her tormentor and must now be held to account...

CHICAGO – The Joffrey Academy of Dance, Official School of The Joffrey Ballet, and the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago present four World Premieres in the sixth annual “Winning Works” program, the culmination of Joffrey's 2016 Winning Works Choreographic Competition. This year's Competition winners - Jeffrey Cirio, Christian Denice and Mariana Oliveira each choreographed a work, along with a fourth by Joffrey Academy Artistic Director Alexei Kremnev, titled Coco + Igor. All four works are performed by dancers from the Joffrey Studio Company and the Joffrey Academy Trainee Program. The Joffrey Academy of Dance's “Winning Works” program is presented at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago's Edlis Neeson Theater, 220 E. Chicago Avenue, over three performances only: tonight, March 5, at 3:00 PM and 7:30 PM and Sunday, March 6 at 3:00 PM.

The stage and screen star reprised her critically-acclaimed performance in THE AUDIENCE after a West End run in 2013, and she was just one of many to 'pop across' an ocean for a stab at Broadway.  An unprecedented amount of British talent took over Broadway last year, bringing us such productions as THE CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT-TIME, WOLF HALL: PARTS 1 & 2, and SKYLIGHT.   It doesn't seem like the trend is ending anytime soon. The weekend also welcomes Cantata Profana, performing the music of Stravinsky on Saturday, June 27th (6:30pm) and a solo performance by Kim Kashkashian, viola as the second offering of the Distinguished Artist Recital Series tonight, June 26th (7:30pm). Jazz, country, folk groups plus opera and musical theatre join world-renowned string quartets for an extended summer of music. Concerts are scheduled thru September 27th.

Some plays maintain their relevance because some horrors never go away. Ariel Dorfman's captivating psychological thriller Death and the Maiden is one such work. Starring Susie Porter (Puberty Blues), Eugene Gilfedder (QTC's Macbeth) and Steve Mouzakis (MTC's The Cherry Orchard), this new co-production with Sydney Theatre Company opens on Thursday 23 July 2015 at Southbank Theatre, The Sumner before travelling to Sydney for a season at Wharf I Theatre.
