BroadwayWorld has confirmed that WAR HORSE, which just opened at the Vivian Beaumont Theatre last week, is gearing up for a national tour, as well as a separate sit-down Toronto production. While details on the tour have not yet been announced, the show will play Los Angeles' Ahmanson Theatre from June 13 - July 22, 2012. The Toronto production is set to open in February of 2012.

The National Theatre's epic WAR HORSE, now a five-time Tony® Award nominee currently playing at Lincoln Center Theater and in the West End in London, will embark on a national tour in June 2012, bringing the hit play to 20 U.S. cities during the 2012-2013 season. A new production will also be mounted at Toronto's Princess of Wales Theatre in February 2012 for an open-ended run.

Yesterday the horse puppets from 'War Horse' opened Lincoln Center's Illumination Lawn for the summer season. The horse puppets dazzled onlookers on the Lawn, which is a double-twisted green space that forms the roof of one of Lincoln Center's newest buildings.

LCT Announces Open-Ended Run for WAR HORSE

Lincoln Center Theater has announced that the limited engagement run of the National Theatre of Great Britain production of WAR HORSE has been extended indefinitely at the Vivian Beaumont Theater (150 West 65 Street). WAR HORSE which is produced by Lincoln Center Theater and The National Theatre of Great Britain in association with Bob Boyett, began previews Tuesday, March 15, opened Thursday, April 14 and was scheduled to run through Sunday, June 26.
