March 3, 2010 - Theatre Exile is proud to close their 13th season with the Philadelphia premiere of Shining City by Conor McPherson, the award-winning playwright of The Weir and The Seafarer. Directed by Exile's associate artistic director Matt Pfieffer, Shining City runs April 7th through the 25th at the Plays and Players Theatre, with the press opening Friday, April 9th at 8pm.

Theatre of the Expendable (Mare Cognitum, Cherry Docs) announces their fifth season, which will include Alan M. Berks' Almost Exactly Like Us and Conor McPherson's St. Nicholas. 'Hooray for Joey Slotnick!' Director Henry Wishcamper has tapped Chicago native Joey Slotnick for the lead role of the African explorer 'Captain Jeffrey T. Spaulding'-the heightened vaudevillian persona created by Groucho Marx for the 1929 stage and screen original-in Goodman Theatre's season opening musical Animal Crackers, written by George S. Kaufman and Morrie Ryskind, with music and lyrics by Bert Kalmar and Harry Ruby.
