A Red Orchid Theatre proudly opens its 2009-10 Season with the World Premiere of Mistakes Were Made by the Emmy-nominated writer of Six Feet Under Craig Wright and directed by Dexter Bullard. The production will run September 8 - October 18, 2009 at A Red Orchid Theatre, 1531 North Wells St. The Press Opening is September 10, 2009 at 8:00 p.m.

Today Berkeley Repertory Theatre announced the creative team for its world premiere of American Idiot. Based on the Grammy Award-winning album of the same name, the show features the music of Green Day and the lyrics of its frontman Billie Joe Armstrong. American Idiot is being staged by Tony Award-winning director Michael Mayer, who also collaborated with Armstrong on the story. It features the work of Olivier Award-winning choreographer Steven Hoggett and music supervisor Tom Kitt, the Tony-winning composer who provided string arrangements for the band's latest album, 21st Century Breakdown.

Walking Shadow presented the second production ever of Robots vs. Fake Robots by young LA playwright David Largman Murray. This sexy, awkward, and very funny script envisions a dark future where some humans want to be like the ruling robot class. It asks questions about what it means to be human, what we should desire, and what we're willing to give up to achieve our dreams.

Closing Aurora Theatre Company's 17th season is the Bay Area Premiere of Bob Glaudini's (A View from 151st Street) Off-Broadway hit JACK GOES BOATING. Bay Area theater veteran Joy Carlin (Hysteria, Bosoms and Neglect, The Price) helms this quirky romantic comedy, featuring Amanda Duarte, Gabriel Marin, Beth Wilmurt, and Danny Wolohan. At least 50 tickets will be available via the online lottery. The production features a new adaptation by Christopher Shinn and will be directed by Ian Rickson.
