In a unique collaborative programme, Ovalhouse's autumn season brings together an outstanding collection of six new shows plus seven FiRST BiTES that, for the first time, are all co- produced in-house by Ovalhouse. This season's pertinent theme of care highlights both the theatre's enduring passion for nurturing emerging artists - every production in this season started its life at Ovalhouse - as well as the way all of the plays deal with how we care for one another.

The month kicks off with local songstress Melveen Leed and the return of the Honolulu Jazz Quartet presenting a Tribute to Bird & Dizzy: The Birth of Bebop. Good music runs in the Artis family, so don't miss PraiseJesus Artis in her Blue Note debut. Jazz talent Abe Lagrimas Jr. is up next, followed by the Na Hoku “Female Vocalist of the Year” Kimié Miner. Paula Fuga returns with a tribute to Aretha Franklin and soul-singer DeAndre Brackensick is back with Shawn Pimental. We welcome Willie K back to the stage following a successful mainland tour and present the Blue Note debut of Kamuela Kahoano. The youngest of the family, Rodney Cazimero joins us later in the month followed by local giants Kumuhau,Brother Noland & John Cruz and Kuana Torres Kahele presenting 'Kakuhihewa, his tribute to O'ahu.

Whenever The Rolling Stones do anything, they do it with quality and gravitas. Having defined rock'n'roll in the '60s, The Rolling Stones entered their imperial phase in 1971 with Sticky Fingers. What followed is a run of albums that couldn't have happened at any other time, by any other band: the decadent excess of Exile On Main St, the Jamaican voodoo swamp of Goats Head Soup, the disco and punk-infused prowl of Some Girls. With each new decade, the Stones evolved while staying true to their roots, coming full circle in 2016 with Blue & Lonesome, a love letter to their first inspiration: the blues. Stages Repertory Theatre's 2018-2019 Season, the final full season to be performed at the theatre's current Allen Parkway facility, offers a dynamic mix of new work, fan favorites and stories reflecting Houston's diverse communities. With Stages' signature breadth of programming, the season runs the gamut from beloved musicals to daring new dramas, youth and family programs to adults-only hilarity, with a focus on nurturing emerging artists and welcoming a wide range of audiences.

November programming has been announced at City Winery Chicago. Ehrenkranz Artistic Director Jane Moss today announced the schedule for Lincoln Center's seventh White Light Festival, running from October 16 through November 16, 2016. The international multidisciplinary festival, which takes its name from a quotation by the Estonian composer Arvo Part, is an annual exploration of the power of art to illuminate our interior and communal lives.
