The Tony Awards Administration Committee announced on May 3 that the Eugene O'Neill Theatre Center will receive the 2010 Regional Theatre Tony Award, which is presented on the recommendation of the American Theatre Critics' Association. The award will be formally bestowed at the 64th Annual Tony Awards ceremony on June 13th. Music Director Rob Berman. The benefit will help fund New York City Center's artistic and education programs. The 2010 Sondheim Award Gala is chaired by C. Daniel and Juliann Clemente; Honorary Hosts include actresses Catherine Zeta-Jones and Bernadette Peters, philanthropists Helen Henderson and Ted and Mary Jo Shen, and Congressman James Moran and LuAnn Bennett. The Sondheim Award Gala will benefit Signature Theatre's artistic, education, and community outreach programs.
