Film and stage actor Jude Law played host on 'Saturday Night Live' on Saturday, March 13, where he performed the opening monologue, and a sketch later on in the show, referencing his recent stint on Broadway in 'Hamlet'.

Jude Law, who most recently starred on Broadway in Shakespeare's HAMLET, will be the guest host on the March 13th episode of the hit late-night television comedy, 'Saturday Night Live.' Alongside Law will be musical guest Pearl Jam.

Ambroise Thomas's Hamlet returns to the Met stage for its first performances since 1897, with the powerful pairing of Simon Keenlyside in the title role and Marlis Petersen as Ophélie. Keenlyside's acclaimed interpretation of Hamlet in Geneva, London and Barcelona finally arrives in the United States, with a performance in the Patrice Caurier and Moshe Leiser production that was hailed by the British press as 'magnificent . . . sheer vocal genius.' Petersen, who steps in for Natalie Dessay, brings her haunting portrayal of Ophélie to the Met; she earned praise for the role during a 2006 run of Hamlet in Düsseldorf. Louis Langrée conducts a cast that includes Jennifer Larmore as Gertrude, Toby Spence in his Met debut as Laërte, and James Morris in the role of Claudius. Jane Archibald, in her Met debut, sings the role of Ophélie on April 5 and 9. The creative team is rounded out by Christian Fenouillat with set designs, Agostino Cavalca with costume designs, and Christophe Forey with lighting designs, all in their Met debuts. David Hirson was born in New York City and was educated at Yale and Oxford. He is the author of two plays for the theatre, La Bête (1991) and Wrong Mountain (2000), both of which have been produced on Broadway. He has received numerous honours for his work, including the 1992 Laurence Olivier Award for Best Comedy. The original Broadway production of La Bête was nominated for five Tony awards in 1991. A collected edition of his plays is published by Grove Press. He is currently working on a new version of Die Fledermaus for the Metropolitan Opera.

Liza Colon-Zayas, Sol Frieder and Elaine Kussack will join Sam Waterston in the world premiere of Athol Fugard's Have You Seen Us?, taking place at Long Wharf Theatre from Nov. 24 to Dec. 20.

After a successful run on Broadway this Fall in the Donmar Warehouse's production of Hamlet, it seems Jude Law wants more of the Great White Way. According to IMBD News, Jude Law would consider performing in an all singing/dancing musical.
