Broadway playwright Lanford Wilson passed away this morning, March 24. He was 73 years old. Considered one of the founders of the Off-Off-Broadway theater movement, Wilson received the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 1980, was elected in 2001 to the Theater Hall of Fame, and in 2004 was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Letters.

Civic Theatre of Allentown will present a free reading of Lanford Wilson's Pulitzer Prize winning play, TALLEY'S FOLLY, Saturday, February 26 at 2 pm on the stage at Civic's 19th Street Theatre, 527 N. 19th Street in Allentown. TALLEY'S FOLLY is the second in Lanford Wilson's acclaimed trilogy that includes FIFTH OF JULY. FIFTH is currently enjoying a full production at Civic Theatre. The production of FIFTH opens on Thursday, February 24 and runs through March 5.
Due to the recent blast of snowy and icy weather, Civic Theatre of Allentown will delay performances of Lanford Wilson's Tony-nominated play, "Fifth of July," by one week. The show, which was previously scheduled to open on February 18, will now begin performances on Thursday, February 24 and will run through Saturday, March 5. Fifth of July will close Sunday, February 27th, with eight total performances.
