The Case Western Reserve University/Cleveland Play House MFA Acting Program announces the debut performance of the Class of 2020. Fifth of July, from Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Lanford Wilson, will run in the Helen Theatre at Playhouse Square.

Theatre Exile continues its 2017/2018 season with Really by Jackie Sibblies Drury. In the studio she once shared with her boyfriend Calvin, a photographer poses Calvin's mother for a portrait. Like many artists, she struggles to capture on film what she envisions in her mind. As the photo shoot progresses, the women grapple with their memories of the man who was once the center of their lives.

When violinist Nun Melik moved from Moscow to Montreal alone in 2009 she felt d racin e, or rootless. To combat her loneliness, the Siberian-born violinist of Armenian and Georgian heritage began to play music from composers she had heard and loved growing up. Soon, Melik became inspired to dig more deeply into the music of her homeland, igniting a passion for research including three trips to Armenia over the past seven years and the desire to bring this music to a wider audience. Since forming a partnership with pianist Michel-Alexandre Broekaert in 2010, Melik has performed the music of Hidden Treasure to audiences across North America and beyond, and has also delivered numerous lectures, in four languages, about her research. Melik calls this very personal album a celebration of the survival spirit and creativity of the Armenian people.

Award-winning Michael Rudman directs David Horovitch as Joe Keller and Penny Downie as Kate Keller with Alex Waldmann (Chris Keller), Grace Carter (Lydia Lubey), Edward Harrison (George Deever), William Meredith (Frank Lubey), Alison Pargeter (Sue Bayliss), David Partridge (Jim Bayliss) and Francesca Zoutewelle (Ann Deever). On February 12, 1915, the Abrons Arts Center's Henry Street Settlement Playhouse opened its doors on the Lower East Side. Since that day, it has remained a vital cultural resource, providing audiences with artistically bold work while offering artists opportunities to dynamically grow. Since becoming Abrons Director in 2006, Jay Wegman has done much more than maintain 'one of the last standing locations for avant-garde performance downtown' (The New York Times, 2009). He has created an arts venue that is unique on the city's cultural landscape, presenting an international mix of cutting-edge performing and visual artists, both established and emerging, from across the country and around the world, as well as from New York City.

The Boston Symphony Orchestra and Music Director Andris Nelsons have entered into a new partnership to create Classical Live, a unique initiative that offers a new paradigm for the distribution of live recordings of classical music available only on Google Play Music. Classical Live will offer participating orchestras—the BSO, Cleveland Orchestra, New York Philharmonic, London Symphony Orchestra, and Amsterdam's Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra—an opportunity to release up to four live concert recordings each season for download exclusively on Google Play Music with the first recordings to be made available at music.google.com or classical-live.com beginning on June 15.  

The New Zealand Dance Company's Rotunda is a unique production that features a powerful collision of a 24-piece live brass band with the raw beauty of contemporary dance to honour the Gallipoli landings in 1915. This expressive and emotive work is showing at Riverside Theatres from 13 to 16 May.
