The San Francisco Conservatory of Music (SFCM) today announces the details of its 2018-19 season, the 101st year of the institution's existence. After celebrating the Conservatory's centennial last season, SFCM looks to the future in its curricular model combining performance, history, and the humanities in thematically linked programming. This season's theme, 'Sound and Image,' brings the fine arts together with classes, concerts, and other events that examine the relationship between music, visual art, and the moving image.

"Author, Composer, Soldier-of-a-Sort" is Jan Carey's first play to be staged at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. The production opens on Saturday 4 August at The Pleasance at 14.00, following previews from Wednesday 1 August and runs until Monday 27 August.

East Lynne Theater Company (ELTC) will have three Equity open-call audition days for its 2018 Season. Non-union actors will be seen, as long as no members of Actors' Equity are kept waiting. This October, Music Director Antonio Pappano makes his Carnegie Hall debut conducting the Orchestra dell'Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in two concerts at Carnegie Hall's Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage. On Friday, October 20 at 8:00 p.m., the Orchestra performs Prokofiev's Piano Concerto No. 3 in C Major, Op. 26 with Martha Argerich who returns to Carnegie Hall for the first time in nine years as well as the Sinfonia from Verdi's Aida and Resphigi's Fountains of Rome and Pines of Rome. A pre-concert talk begins at 7:00 p.m. in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage with Alain Frogley, Professor of Music History at the University of Connecticut.
