Coming direct from London, where it was seen live on stage by nearly a million people, the UK and Ireland tour of the Theatre Royal Drury Lane production of SHREK THE MUSICAL is directed by Nigel Harman who starred as Lord Farquaad in the west end production, winning him the 2012 Laurence Olivier Award for Best Performance in a Supporting Role in a Musical.

Theatre Aspen School (TAS) presents the spring production of Shrek, The Musical by the Winter Teen Conservatory and Young Company. The crowd-pleasing musical takes place at Aspen's Wheeler Opera House on Thurs., Dec. 11 - Sat. Dec 13, with evening shows at 7:00pm, and a matinee on Sat., Dec. 13 at 2:00pm. A special meet and greet, "SHREK-CEPTION," will take place following the show on Friday the 12th and will include Ogreish nibbles and libation along with an opportunity to get photos taken with the cast. Tickets are $20 for adults and $12 for students 18 and under, and may be purchased at the Wheeler Opera House Box office at 320 E. This fall, the Penn Libraries explores the world of children's books in two related exhibitions and a symposium. 'Children's books are unique teaching tools that ignite the imagination and bring form and meaning to language for younger and older generations alike,' shared Carton Rogers, Vice Provost and Director of the Penn Libraries. 'We are pleased to celebrate this genre of work, while at the same time acknowledging two very significant donations to our collections, by highlighting the lives and careers of William Steig, a children's book author who wrote stories that overturn traditional fairytale assumptions, and Atha Tehon, a master at collaboration who helped to shape the works of many of the world's best children's book authors. We hope that members of the Penn community as well as the greater art and literary communities are as inspired by these exhibits as we are.'

The UK and Ireland tour of SHREK THE MUSICAL® premiered Wednesday 30 July at the Grand Theatre in Leeds then launches in Bristol, Nottingham, Belfast, Dublin, Oxford, Manchester, Aberdeen, Canterbury, Newcastle, Birmingham, Glasgow, Sheffield, Norwich, Southampton, Plymouth and Milton Keynes with further venues still to be announced. Footlite Musicals will open its 2014-2015 season with its Young Adults production of 'Shrek The Musical' with performances July 11, 12, 17, 18, 19, 20, 24, 25, 26 and 27 at the Hedback Community Theater at 1847 North Alabama Street in Indianapolis.
