The Suncoast Credit Union Gasparilla International Film Festival (GIFF) is proud to announce the dynamic 2018 Feature Film Competition Lineup. The festival includes 35 U.S., international and documentary features, as well as other programming, to kick-off its 12th festival season. GIFF will begin on Tuesday, March 20th with the opening night musical/drama, Stuck, starring Giancarlo Esposito, Amy Madigan and Ashanti.

The Wooster Group will open their newest piece, A PINK CHAIR (In Place of a Fake Antique) at The Performing Garage (33 Wooster Street) in New York City, with performances from April 28 through May 19, with press opening on Wednesday, May 9. The production will come to New York following a run in Los Angeles at The Roy and Edna Disney/CALARTS Theater from April 5-15, 2018.

Legendary ballet costume designer HOLLY HYNES and costume and scenic designer ZACK BROWN are among the 2018 TDF/Irene Sharaff Award recipients which were just announced by TDF, the not-for-profit service organization for the performing arts. Ms. Hynes was selected to receive the 2018 TDF/Irene Sharaff Lifetime Achievement Award for costume design and Mr. Brown will receive the Robert L. B. Tobin Award for Sustained Excellence in Theatrical Design. The awards are presented through TDF's Costume Collection. The awards will be presented at a ceremony on Friday, April 20, at 6:30pm, at the Edison Ballroom (240 West 47th Street).

Everyone is encouraged to dress up in your best '50s garb, be it Pink Ladies, T-Birds, or Rydell High Staff! Please note: Grease is rated PG-13; some song lyrics contain adult content, such as language and sexual references/innuendo. Tickets $5.00. The film starts at 2 PM. 1 hour and 50 minutes.

Day 2 of the 33rd Santa Barbara International Film Festival (SBIFF) was underway yesterday with the presentation of the Cinema Vanguard Award to three-time Academy Award nominee Willem Dafoe at The Arlington Theatre. The honor, which was presented by director Josh Boone, was bestowed upon Dafoe for his performance in “The Florida Project.”

Peter Spears (Call Me By Your Name), Lisa Bruce (Darkest Hour), Emma Thomas (Dunkirk), Sean McKittrick (Get Out), Evelyn O'Neill (Lady Bird), Daniel Lupi (Phantom Thread), J. Miles Dale (The Shape of Water), and Graham Broadbent (Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri) are this year's participants on the “Movers and Shakers” Producers Panel. Adrian Molina (Coco), Edgar Wright (Baby Driver), Virgil Williams (Mudbound), Michael H. Weber (The Disaster Artist), Emily V. Gordon (The Big Sick), Liz Hannah (The Post), and Mike Vanessa Taylor (The Shape of Water) will speak on the “It Starts With the Script” Writers Panel. Anderson (Coco), director Elaine McMillion Sheldon (Heroin), hair and makeup artist Lucy Sibbick (Darkest Hour), director Ru Kuwahata (Negative Space), and editor Tatiana S. Riegel (I, Tonya) will be this year's participants in the “Creative Forces: Women in the Business” panel. The event will take place on Sunday, Feb. 4 at the Lobero Theatre.
