NBC Cancels 'Outsourced', 'V', & More; ABC Cancels Several Also

Reports are surfacing that NBC has cancelled several of its programs, as was to be expected with the influx of new pilots being picked up by the network. ABC has also cancelled several of its programs. Those reportedly cancelled by NBC are 'The Event,' 'Law & Order: LA,' 'Outsourced,' while ABC has cancelled 'Brothers & Sisters,' 'Outsourced', 'Detroit 1-8-7,' 'Mr. Sunshine,' 'No Ordinary Family' and 'Off the Map.'
NBC Picks Up Four New Shows; Applegate, 'Prime Suspect' Among Them

In addition to the previously reported 'Smash' NBC has picked up three other shows, according to Deadline.com. They are: Christina Applegate's 'Up All Night', Whitney Cummings' 'Whitney', and the American adaptation of 'Prime Suspect'. Universal Media Studios will be producing all four shows.

COMEDY CENTRAL and MTV Networks, both divisions of Viacom (NYSE: VIA, VIA.B), have tapped New York City to host 'The Comedy Awards,' the first-ever multi-network, multi-platform, annual event dedicated to honoring and celebrating the world of comedy, it was announced today by Doug Herzog, president, MTV Networks Entertainment Group. A night for comedy of all kinds, 'The Comedy Awards' will be taped at New York City's Hammerstein Ballroom on Saturday, March 26 and will premiere on Sunday, April 10, 2011, simultaneously across MTV Networks' COMEDY CENTRAL, Spike TV, TV Land, VH1 and Nick At Nite.
