American Airlines and American Eagle invite customers to join them in a salute to servicemen and women this Veterans Day by sharing a special video created by people across American's network. The video compilation includes personal testimonials of the impact made by veterans and demonstrates the airline's commitment to supporting our nation's heroes.

The Bob Woodruff Foundation and the New York Comedy Festival presented Stand Up for Heroes last night in New York City. The event, funded in part by the generosity of Veterans on Wall Street (VOWS) and supported by founding sponsor GFI Group, Inc., brought together celebrities, military, business and government leaders, service members and their families for a night of laughter and performances from A-list musicians and comedians, as well as wounded veterans, to raise funds for programs that the Bob Woodruff Foundation supports. The amount raised last night was more than $5 million -- a new record for the Stand Up for Heroes Event, now in its seventh year. The funds raised will benefit organizations across the country vetted by the Bob Woodruff Foundation for their effectiveness and success. To date, $21 million has been raised by the Stand Up for Heroes events.

In an effort to bring troops and their families stationed in the Middle East, Germany and the United Kingdom special moments this Halloween season, the USO is once again deploying five bestselling thriller authors abroad as part of the 'Operation Thriller IV' USO/Armed Forces Entertainment tour October 24 - November 1. Unlike any 'Operation Thriller' USO tour in its series, this year's installment will kick off with a three-day visit to the nation's capital.

The Bethesda Marriott is a full-service 407-key hotel located adjacent to Rockville Pike, approximately nine miles north of Washington D.C. and close to downtown Bethesda, the National Institute of Health, and Walter Reed Medical Center. The Hotel features a 180-seat three-meal restaurant, 19,000 square feet of meeting space, and indoor and outdoor pools. Marriott Hotels & Resorts manages the Hotel under a long-term management contract.

SIGNS OF LIFE, A Tale of Terezin, will host post-show discussions with Holocaust survivors, many of whom spent time in the Theresienstadtghetto. To continue the conversation sparked by SIGNS OF LIFE, survivors and their family members will share their own stories and experiences and offer unique perspectives to the show. SIGNS OF LIFE will play Chicago for a limited six week engagement playing September 18 through October 27, 2013.

Zam Not Spam Productions, as part of the 17th annual New York International Fringe Festival, presents the NYC premiere production of Laura Zam's MARRIED SEX, directed by Shirley Serotsky. MARRIED SEX will play a special engagement at the Fringe Venue #9 Jimmy's No. 43 (43 East 7th Street, NYC). The program will feature the New York premiere of 'SometimesSilence,' choreographed by a Army mother whose only two sons deployed to Afghanistan last year.

Hollywood film and television actor Lou Diamond Phillips is back to host an all-new season of AN OFFICER AND A MOVIE on Military Channel. A statement from the producers said: 'The two-hour show will take audiences on a voyage through Shatner's life and career, from Shakespearean stage actor to internationally known icon and raconteur.'

Michael Riedel reports in today's New York Post that William Shatner is headed to Broadway in early 2012 with a 2-3 week engagement of SHATNER'S WORD: WE JUST LIVE IN IT which will play for 2-3 weeks at the Music Box Theater on Broadway. The show will be a temporary booking at the theatre, which is currently home to PRIVATE LIVES, which just moved up its closing to December 31.

Cast and panelists have been announced for the November 13 and 14 performances of Theater of War, the free public health project featuring a staged reading of Sophocles' Ajax performing over Veterans' Weekend.
