Friends and collaborators violinist/violist Pinchas Zukerman and pianistYefim Bronfman perform in recital at Walt Disney Concert Hall, tonight, April 4, at8 pm. As part of their eight-city duo tour, the music powerhouses perform Schubert's Sonatina in A minor, D. 385, Beethoven's Violin Sonata No. 7 in C minor, Op. 30, No. 2, and Brahms' Viola Sonata No. 1 in F minor, Op. 120, No. 1, which is the composer's own adaptation of a work he originally composed with the clarinet in mind. The performance is part of the LA Phil's 2013/14 Colburn Celebrity Recitals series.

Musical Theatre West presents the third production of their 61st season, the West Coast Premiere of S'WONDERFUL: The New Gershwin Musical, created and directed by Ray Roderick, musicaldirection by Bret Simmons with choreography by Charlie Williams. S'WONDERFUL will preview today, April 4, open on Saturday, April 5 and perform for three weeks only through Sunday, April 20 at The Richard and Karen Carpenter Performing Arts Center, located at 6200 Atherton St., Long Beach on the campus of California State University, Long Beach.

No one writes more recognizable movie scores than John Williams, and today, April 4 through 6, Maestro Michael Krajewski will lead the Philly POPS as they take audiences on a journey through the great music of many popular movies. The Magical Music of John Williams concert will feature music from Star Wars, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Harry Potter, Jurassic Park, Schindler's List and more. The POPS Festival Chorus will sing several selections. Guests will be surprised during the concert by local Star Wars enthusiasts who are members of the 501st Legion, Garrison Carida, the world's largest costuming organization, in character as Darth Vader, Chewbacca, R2D3, C3PO, and Storm Troopers.

'Cirque Shanghai' will return this summer to Chicago's Navy Pier with a brand new show, 'Cirque Shanghai: Warriors.' Performances begin Wednesday, May 21 and run through Monday, Sept. 1 at the Pepsi Skyline Stage, a 1,500-seat, canopied, open-air theater on Navy Pier (600 E. Grand Ave). Tickets go on sale May 2, 2014.

Trey McIntyre Project Performs Last Work as a Full-Time Dance Company at Harris Theater Tonight

In one of its final performances as a full-time dance company, the Boise-based Trey McIntyre Project (TMP) will present the Harris Theater-commissioned Chicago premiere of The Vinegar Works: Four Dances of Moral Instruction. The performance tonight, April 3 at 7:30PM will include live musical accompaniment from the young stars of the Music Institute of Chicago. This exciting work, organized and led by the Harris Theater, pairs one of the city's finest cultural institutions with one of the country's foremost contemporary dance ensembles. The commission centers on the Theater's mission to collaborate with, and present, Chicago's midsize and emerging arts organizations in innovative ways.

The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust will present the fourth annual Pittsburgh JazzLive International Festival (PJLIF) on June 20-22, 2014. PJLIF will consist of three days of free jazz and jazz-influenced musical performances on outdoor stages throughout downtown Pittsburgh's Cultural District. PJLIF attracts more than 20,000 attendees from around the country. The Festival features local, emerging, and national and international musicians in a variety of performance settings, including outdoor performance stages and indoor performance locations within local restaurants, coffee shops and galleries.
