With the fourth show of the 2011-12 season, American Repertory Theater of WNY presents the Americana psycho-drama, KILLER JOE at the Buffalo East, 1410 Main Street from April 13th to May 5th. This story of destain, desperation, murder and Texas is written by Tracy Letts, who is best recognized for his 2008 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY.

Mary-Arrchie Theatre Co. presents Superior Donuts by Pulitzer Prize winner Tracy Letts. Performances are Thursdays-Saturdays at 8 PM and Sundays at 3 PM through March 25. Tickets are $18 on Thursdays and Sundays, $20 on Fridays and $22 on Saturdays.

Despite their best efforts, director Lauren Shouse and her amazingly talented cast just can't give Tracy Lett's Superior Donuts the emotional heft-the literary gravitas-that the playwright so mightily struggles for in his sitcomesque script which pales in comparison to his supposed masterpiece, August: Osage County. Clearly, it's the success of that earlier, heavily-decorated and awarded, Pulitzer Prize-winning play that most theatre companies are invoking as they attempt to sell tickets to this decidedly lesser work, hoping to capitalize on its success in hoodwinking an unsuspecting audience.

Theatre Exile will present the final show of their 15th season with the Philadelphia premiere of A Behanding in Spokane by Martin McDonagh. Directed by Exile's Artistic Director Joe Canuso and starring Pearce Bunting, Amanda Schoonover, Matt Pfeiffer and Reuben Mitchell, A Behanding in Spokane will be running from April 19th to May 13th , with the official press opening on the 25th of April. Honorary producers for the show are June and Steve Wolfson.

Steppenwolf Theatre Company Artistic Director Martha Lavey announced today the 2012/13 Subscription Season, including a Steppenwolf-commissioned world premiere and the work of fifteen ensemble members. The season begins in Steppenwolf's Downstairs Theatre with David Lindsay-Abaire's Good People, directed by ensemble member K. Todd Freeman. Up next, ensemble member Anna D. Shapiro directs The Motherf**ker with the Hat by Stephen Adly Guirgis. In the Upstairs Theatre, ensemble member Austin Pendleton directs The Birthday Party by Harold Pinter. In April 2013, ensemble member Tina Landau directs the Steppenwolf-commissioned world premiere of Head of Passes by ensemble member Tarell Alvin McCraney, their first collaboration since the widely-praised The Brother/Sister Plays (2010). The season concludes with Belleville by Amy Herzog, directed by Anne Kauffmann.

Mary-Arrchie Theatre Co. Extends SUPERIOR DONUTS

After three sold out weeks, Mary-Arrchie Theatre Co. today announced that Superior Donuts by Pulitzer Prize winner Tracy Letts has been Jeff Recommended and will be extended through May 6th, 2012. Performances are Thursdays-Saturdays at 8 PM and Sundays at 3 PM. Tickets are $18 on Thursdays and Sundays, $20 on Fridays and $22 on Saturdays.
