Obie Award winner Tracee Chimo, who can currently be seen in Second Stage Theatre's production of Lips Together, Teeth Apart by Terrence McNally, is the latest featured artist in The Creative Faces Project: an evolving portrait and interview collective of artists inspiring the New York Stage. Ms. Chimo is also set to play multiple roles in Wendy Wasserstein's The Heidi Chronicles in its upcoming Broadway run. On Monday, September 22, 2014, The Innovative Theatre Foundation, the organization who for the past 10 years has been dedicated to celebrating Off-Off-Broadway, announced the 2014 recipients at its annual event. Celebrating ten years and thousands of nominees, the New York Innovative Theatre awards took place at Mason Hall at Baruch Performing Arts Center, 17 Lexington Avenue. All proceeds will benefit The Actors Fund's Phyllis Newman Women's Health Initiative, which provides "a safety net and a place to turn when women in the creative community are faced with critical health concerns." The evening is produced in arrangement with Paramount Pictures by The Indigo Theatre Project (Nick Gereffi, Artistic Director/Rachel Sussman, Executive Producer), a theater company that strives to unite passion with purpose by producing high-profile readings to benefit relevant charitable organizations.
