George Dvorsky, who most recently starred in the critically acclaimed revival of CLOSER THAN EVER at the York Theater has joined the cast of The Fantasticks in the role of the narrator El Gallo, as of yesterday, January 21. He replaces actor Richard Roland.

The Gettysburg Community Theatre will kick off their new 2013 season with the musical The Fantasticks (yes that is the way the show title is spelled), which is the world's longest running show. It will play at GCT located at 49 York Street within the first block of Lincoln Square in downtown Gettysburg January 25 and 26 at 7pm and January 26 and 27 at 2pm. Tickets are $15 reserved seating and include a wine reception. Eddie Mekka returns to Naples to headline TheatreZone's first-ever gala fundraiser Sunday, March 24, 2013, performing his nightclub act, singing with a live band songs by Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Tom Jones, Louis Prima and many more, and storytelling in a charity show to benefit the Equity, non-profit theatre group at Cloyde's Steak & Lobster House on Venetian Bay in Naples.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jim Murray, agent to the likes of Tony Bennett, Phyllis Diller, Jerry Lewis and Liza Minnelli, passed away on December 16, 2012. He was 85.

Voting is now underway for the Las Vegas Awards and continues until December 31, 2012. Winners will be announced in early January.
