There are many words I can use to describe Seattle Shakespeare Company's current production of "A Midsummer Night's Dream". But the one word that kept popping up so many times while watching it was "HOT!" This production is just plain hot as director Sheila Daniels has put together a fearless production that puts in all the love, lust and sex you could ask for while also throwing in a bit of a twist and still keeping Shakespeare's ethereal comedy true to itself and fun as hell.

The Seattle Rep is currently presenting Brian Friel's Irish familial saga, "Dancing at Lughnasa". And while the show has some lovely moments, the play as a whole seemed sluggish and uneven.

The Seattle Repertory Theatre has announced casting for the upcoming 2010-2011 season. Of the 23 roles cast so far, 21 have been filled by Seattle performers, ranging from up-and-comers like Troy Fischnaller and Alexandra Tavares to long-time staples like Charles Leggett, Sea?n G. Griffin, Todd Jefferson Moore and Suzanne Bouchard. Additionally, five of the eight directors are local, as are many of the designers.

SPF #4 Can You Get My Back? and Theatre Off Jackson partner with solo artists to bring live original works in theatre, music and dance to Seattle including sixteen original shows of varying lengths, eight world premieres, three shorts nights and two late night monologue slams hosted by Teatro Zinzanni's Kevin Kent at the Canoe Social Club.
