Music Director Xian Zhang and the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra present an eclectic program featuring Ravel's Bolero, Vaughan Williams' Tuba Concerto, Saint-Saens' The Carnival of the Animals and Tan Dun's Internet Symphony No. 1, "Eroica," April 7-9 in Newark and New Brunswick. NJSO Principal Tuba Derek Fenstermacher takes center stage for Vaughan Williams' virtuosic concerto-the first major work of its kind for the instrument.

The Cultural Services of the French Embassy and the French Institute Alliance Francaise (FIAF) are pleased to announce programming for the second annual Tilt Kids Festival. With five world premieres and four U.S. debuts, the multidisciplinary festival presents adventurous and playful new work for families from artists spanning the globe. The ARK Trio, whose members include noted musicians soprano Allison Charney, cellist Kajsa William-Olsson and pianist Reiko Uchida, will make their New York City debut on February 14th 7PM at the Leonard Nimoy Thalia at Peter Norton Symphony Space. The ARK trio's concert 'Love Resounding' will present six world premieres of compositions written for them by American composers Kim D. Sherman (THE WEDDING SONG, THE LAODAMIAD: A MYTHIC JOURNEY, PRAIRIE DIARY) and Michael Ching (ARRANGEMENTS AND DERANGEMENTS: INTERPRETATIONS OF SCHUBERT); Russian-born composer Dina Pruzhansky (ON LOVE AND LAND) and Israeli composer/pianist Moshe Knoll (SIMPLICITY).

Kent Tritle Announces Spring 2017 Season

To launch his 2016-17 season, Kent Tritle made his conducting debut in Asia with a program of Beethoven and Bellini at South Korea's Great Mountains Music Festival and School in August, and in November led the New York premiere at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine of the recently deceased Einojuhani Rautavaara's Vigilia. Opera News, praising Tritle's “profoundly musical direction,” said, “Truly, this was a choral concert for the ages. … For those of us who love choral music, and for those of us who particularly love choral music connected to the Eastern Orthodox tradition, this concert was possibly the finest event of the 2016-17 season.”
