INTO THE WOODS' princess MacKenzie Mauzy is headed back to the big screen, but in a far darker role.

Lambda Literary is pleased to announce that John Waters will receive Lambda's Trustee Award for Excellence in Literature an Rita Mae Brown will receive the Pioneer Award at the 27th Annual Lambda Literary Awards ('Lammys'). Waters and Brown will be honored along with the winning authors of 24 separate LGBT literary categories as determined by over 90 judges. The Lammys bring together over 450 attendees, sponsors and celebrities to celebrate excellence in LGBT literature, making it the most glamorous and prestigious LGBT literary event in the world. The awards will be hosted for the fourth year in a row by comedienne Kate Clinton on Monday, June 1st in New York City at The Great Hall at Cooper Union (7 East 7th St @ 3rd Ave, New York City) with a pre-ceremony reception presented by Penguin Random House. A VIP After-Party presented by Scholastic will immediately follow the ceremony.

Theatre Philadelphia is thrilled to announce the nominees for the 2014 Barrymore Awards for Excellence in Theatre, including over 140 total nominations spanning 26 categories. The all-new Barrymore Awards Ceremony will be held Monday, October 27 at 7:00 p.m. at The Merriam Theater at 250 S. Broad Street, immediately followed by an After-Party in the Commonwealth Plaza at The Kimmel Center.

Curt Gentry, American writer, best known for co-authoring (with Vincent Bugliosi), the 1974 book Helter Skelter, on the Charles Manson murders has died of lung cancer. He was 83 years old. Gentry lived in San Francisco, California.

Bristol Riverside Theatre has announced the receipt of a $50,000 grant from J.P. Mascaro & Sons, a local waste removal and recycling company to help save BRT's summer ArtRageous program. An unexpected loss of funding for the ArtRageous program threatened to necessitate cutting scholarship money for 100 kids. The grant from Mascaro & Sons, combined with a $25,000 matching grant from the Grundy Foundation which was matched by support from Arkema, Milestone Bank, and The Bucks County Foundation, has restored opportunities for 118 children to attend this summer.

Later this month on January 30 and 31 in the Great Hall of the historic Players Club on Gramercy Park (16 Gramercy Park South), the White Horse Theater Company will present a intimate site-specific production of the rarely produced Tennessee Williams one-act I Can't Imagine Tomorrow. Written during Williams' experimental later period and departing from the highly articulate poetic language of his well-known earlier works, I Can't Imagine Tomorrow employs silence and fragmented discourse in order to express the themes of human dependence, fear, and loss that Williams was grappling with during the 1960s.

Last night, Theatre Philadelphia celebrated the past year in theatre across the region by presenting the Lifetime Achievement Award, cash awards totaling $56,500, and a masquerade after-party that featured performances of some of the highlights of the previous theatre season. Over 400 theatre artists, administrators and supporters attended the sold out ceremony and party held at Arden Theatre Company in Old City. Directed by the playwright Jon Marans, who recently directed his critically acclaimed production of Old Wicked Songs at Bristol Riverside Theatre in November, Raw Space replaces the previously-scheduled reading of Lay The Voodoo Down by Keith Glover.
