Today we are talking to a breakout Broadway star who has made a name for himself with memorable turns in this century's revivals of Rodgers & Hammerstein's FLOWER DRUM SONG, Stephen Sondheim's PACIFIC OVERTURES and Stephen Schwartz's GODSPELL on Broadway as well as turns in Schwartz's WICKED and Jonathan Larson's RENT in addition to his lauded work on the brand new Broadway-bound tuner ALLEGIANCE, co-starring Lea Salonga and George Takei - and, of course, his easily identifiable uniform-outfitted Warbler on Fox's hit musical dramedy series GLEE - the passionate and gifted Telly Leung! The NAACP Beverly Hills/Hollywood Branch announced the complete list of honorees for the 22(nd) Annual NAACP Theatre Awards. The show will be held on Monday, November 5, 2012 at the Directors Guild of America in Hollywood and will feature performances by Tichina Arnold (Everyone Hates Chris) and Shoshana Bean (Wicked).

Since bursting onto the New York musical theater scene in 1995 with his short-lived, but highly-praised Off-Broadway revue Songs For a New World, and then winning a 1999 Tony Award for Best Score for another short-lived show, Parade, pundits have been consistently predicting Jason Robert Brown's membership into the musical theater composer pantheon. While he has quite made it there yet, this week at his concerts at 54 Below (September 11-15), Brown offered a preview of songs from upcoming musicals that could finally allow him entree among the gods of Broadway musical composing.

Through 15, Jason Robert Brown is bringing his show to NYC's newest theatrical hot spot, 54 Below, Broadway's Nightclub, for seven performances. To celebrate his first time at the new club, he's bringing Shoshana Bean, and featuring music from Honeymoon In Vegas and The Bridges of Madison County as well as his forthcoming solo album (in addition to the usual favorites). The Coterie presents an all-star lineup of some of the fiercest vocal talent that Broadway, Film & Television has to offer with DIVAS UNITE for GCP 2012, a benefit concert for the Girls Camaraderie Project (GCP). Founded by Broadway's Arielle Jacobs (In the Heights) and Lexi Lawson (Rent, In the Heights, "American Idol"), GCP is a philanthropic organization dedicated to encouraging self-esteem and empowerment amongst middle school girls.

Shoshana Bean joins the cast of 'A Magical Night On Broadway' at The Agua Caliente Resort Casino Spa in Rancho Mirage tonight, September 8 at 8:00 pm. 'A Magical Night On Broadway" is a fully-staged and costumed tribute to the American musical theatre starring stage, film and television personality JoAnne Worley and featuring music from some of Broadway's most celebrated musicals including "Chicago," "Wicked," "Hairspray," "A Chorus Line," "The Lion King" and more. Joining Worley are Bean and Broadway and television star Rex Smith, Tony-nominated actress Jonelle Allen, Terron Brooks and Carol Channing's American Glee Club - a young song and dance group representing America's public schools, along with a few surprise guests. The show is directed by David Green with musical direction by Stephen Smith.
