Three award-winning plays will be broadcast Live in HD from Britain's National Theatre to The Ridgefield Playhouse in October. First up is Othello on Tuesday, October 15, followed by Macbeth on Monday, the 21st, and Frankenstein on, very fittingly, Thursday, October 31, all at 6:30 p.m.

NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts is pleased to announce programming for its tenth season, 2013-14. In its first decade, NYU Skirball has made substantial contributions not only to the community surrounding the country's largest private university, but also to a broader cultural landscape. In recent years, Executive Director Michael Harrington has used the venue-which, with 860 seats and state-of-the-art production capabilities, is unique in downtown Manhattan-to provide a platform for artists from around the world and from the facility's Greenwich Village neighborhood to practice their craft on a larger scale. In addition to multiple-night or -week runs (Joshua Light Show, Not by Bread Alone, Shlemiel the First), NYU Skirball Center hosts a range of singular events, such as a dialogue between David Byrne and Ahmir '?uestlove' Thompson, Reggie Watts in concert, Comedian Rob Delaney and the and season 2 premiere of HBO's "Girls."

The Music Box continues its partnership with the UK's National Theatre Live to exhibit captured live stage performances beamed to Chicago from the prestigious National Theatre in London. The Audience, starring Mirren and directed by Academy Award-nominated director Stephen Daldry (Billy Elliot, The Hours), shows Sunday June 30, 1:30 pm and Wednesday, July 3, 7:30pm at Music Box Theatre, 3733 N. National Theatre Live is pleased to announce that the June 13 live broadcast of Peter Morgan's Olivier Award-winning new play The Audience was seen by nearly 30,000 people in North America and nearly 80,000 people in the UK - the largest audience ever for a live broadcast from National Theatre Live. Due to the record-breaking response to the National Theatre Live broadcast of The Audience, many encore screenings have already been added, and more encores will be added throughout the summer internationally. In North America, there are currently 700 screenings scheduled throughout the summer, with additional encores to be added still; in the UK, nearly 800 screenings will take place - the largest number of screenings for a National Theatre Live broadcast in both North America and the UK ever. The Audience played its final performance at London's Gielgud Theatre on June 15, starring internationally acclaimed actress Helen Mirren as The Queen, directed by Stephen Daldry, and won two 2013 Olivier Awards for Best Actress (Helen Mirren) and Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Richard McCabe).

Forthcoming productions at the National Theatre, announced today by Nicholas Hytner, include plays familiar, rare and new: Shakespeare's Othello, Gorky's Children of the Sun,James Baldwin's The Amen Corner;Marlowe's Edward II, Pirandello's Liola, Eugene O'Neill's Strange Interlude and Georg Kaiser's From Morning to Midnight. Tori Amos and Samuel Adamson's musical The Light Princess will premiere in October, and there will be a new adaptation of Emil and the Detectives for family audiences at Christmas.
