Bainbridge Performing Arts to Present SPAMALOT, 12/5-26

Bainbridge Performing Arts will stage MONTY PYTHON'S SPAMALOT, presented by Merrill Lynch Wealth Maangement and opening December 5. Lovingly ripped off from the classic film comedy "Monty Python and the Holy Grail," SPAMALOT retells the legend of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table- featuring cows, killer rabbits, and a Diva to end all divas.

Long Beach Playhouse Extends 'FIDDLER' Through 8/23

Due to sell-out crowds, the Long Beach Playhouse is extending its production of Fiddler on the Roof for one additional weekend: August 22 and 23. 'The production has received outstanding reviews and audience response has been overwhelming,' said Andrew Vonderschmitt. 'The shows have sold out and this give people who want to see it but couldn't get tickets another chance.'

Island Theatre's Ten-Minute Play Festival Set for 8/23-24 at BPA

Island Theatre's annual Ten-Minute Play Festival presents sixteen works by local playwrights over two evenings, August 23 and 24 at Bainbridge Performing Arts. Eight plays will be performed on Saturday evening, and the other eight will be performed on Sunday evening. Festival goers will be invited to vote for an audience choice award for each night. In addition, an overall festival favorite, determined by the judges, will be awarded a cash prize at the end of the festival on Sunday night.

Each year, Long Beach Playhouse closes its Mainstage Season with a musical. This year it's presenting the popular classic, FIDDLER ON THE ROOF with music by Jerry Bock, lyrics by Sheldon Harnick, and book by Joseph Stein. When it opened on Broadway 50 years ago in 1964, the musical was nominated for ten Tony Awards and won nine. In 1971, it was made into a movie, produced and directed by Norman Jewison, starring Chaim Topol who was nominated for a Best Actor Academy Award for his portrayal of Tevye the Milkman.

Each year, Long Beach Playhouse closes its Mainstage Season with a musical. This year it's pleased to present the popular classic, Fiddler on the Roof. Set in 1905 Czarist Russia, it tells the story of Tevye, a humble dairy farmer and his quest to find suitable mates for his five daughters. Despite his efforts, the daughters are feeling the influences of a world beyond the village.

PARADISE Extends Through 5/4 Ruskin Group Theatre
