Imagination Stage Announces Casting for Dahl Repertory Shows

James and the Giant Peach, the beloved and well-read Roald Dahl story returns to Imagination Stage and teams up with the world premiere of The Magic Finger, one of Dahl's lesser known stories. The repertory, performed on the same stage and using nearly cast for each show, has been extended to June 2.

Kaufman and Moss Hart based their comedy Once In A Lifetime on their maddening movie studio experiences as did Betty Comden and Adolph Green with the musical Fade Out – Fade In.

I sometimes get intimidated when I'm asked to write about something truly extraordinary that has affected my child in a deep way. The last experience I had like this was when I brought my daughter to see Kinky Boots. The show changed how my daughter viewed the importance of accepting people for who they are, and it was a great opportunity for me to demonstrate how Mommy believes a person should behave towards others.

Bethesda becomes Neverland this summer, as Imagination Stage presents Peter Pan and Wendy, a swashbuckling adventure with audience participation. Directed by Kathryn Chase Bryer, it is a story in which two young heroes must decide if growing up is really all that bad.

New York Live Arts is set to present several Re: Awakenings performances as part of the inaugural Live Ideas festival. New York Live Arts' newest program initiative, Live Ideas is an annual humanities festival that will explore a different theme each year over several days. The inaugural festival, The Worlds of Oliver Sacks, will take place from today, April 17 through 21, 2013 and is comprised of more than 20 events, including performances, films and discussions that showcase works of art and spark conversations that engage the prevalent themes in the acclaimed neurologist's works.
