Auckland Theatre Company presents the debut of 'Next Big Thing', a year-long youth company which provides young actors with a bridge between school and full-time industry training. Youth aged 15 - 25 auditioned in March this year to take part in the festival where new talent and works are fostered and developed. As part of the programme July brings the performance of a new musical CHECKOUT CHICKS and Poly Stenham's play TUSK TUSK.

Holed up in a cramped flat in a large Midlands town with his wife Alison and friend Cliff, Jimmy Porter has got something to say. Look Back in Anger 'rocked theatre and society in the summer of 1956, and blasted open the doors for a generation of angry young men'; Benedict Cumberbatch, Rebecca Hall, Anna Maxwell Martin, Matt Ryan and Julian Wadham led a reading of the play for the Royal Court's Playwright's Playwrights season on July 6. As part of the current three-play Royal Court at the Duke of York's Season with Posh by Laura Wade, Jumpy by April De Angelis and Constellations by Nick Payne, four of the UK's leading playwrights will direct one of their all-time favourite plays in a series of one-off afternoon readings from 29 June at the Duke of York's Theatre in a special event supported by The Ambassador Theatre Group. Nick Payne, Polly Stenham, Roy Williams and David Eldridge will select their favourite plays and will have less than two days to bring their vision to life with a full cast to be announced for staged readings on Friday afternoons this summer.

Jeremy Herrin directs the World Premiere of Matthew Dunster's Children's Children running at the Almeida now through 30 June 2012, with press night on 24 May. Designs are by Robert Innes Hopkins with lighting by Neil Austin and sound by Ian Dickinson. Following a critically acclaimed and sold out run as part of Chichester's Festival 2011, the double bill of Terence Rattigan's one-act masterpiece and David Hare's specially commissioned companion piece will transfer to Harold Pinter Theatre from April 19 with a press night on April 24.

The Araca Group has announced the return of AracaWorks, a week-long series of play readings celebrating new work for the theatre.
