In celebration of her seventh album release, American Kid, Patty Griffin makes debut performance at the Kimmel Center's Verizon Hall on Thursday, June 6 at 7:30 p.m. Griffin's singing is as extraordinary as her songwriting, with music steeped in Americana, love, sadness, apparitions, and salt-of-the-earth characters. Known for her remarkably powerful, personal, and unpredictable song style, Griffin wrote American Kid in honor of her father. Tickets go on sale to the public Friday, May 3 at 10 a.m.

THE MUSIC OF NASHVILLE (SEASON I, VOLUME 2) will be released May 7 on Big Machine Records.

One World Theatre, Austin's premiere music venue known presenting diverse music and cultural arts in an up close and personal setting has announced its 2013 Summer Season. Highlights include top singer-songwriters like Dar Williams and Jimmy Webb, contemporary jazz greats like Euge Groove and Earl Klugh, Latin music icons like Sergio Mendes and Arturo Sandoval and local favorites like Walking Woody's Road featuring Jimmy LaFave, Eliza Gilkyson, Slaid Cleaves and Sam Baker. After several years of being 'green' as Elphaba in the Los Angeles, San Francisco and Broadway productions of the hit musical WICKED, singer/actress Teal Wicks can now be seen touring the country in the new Broadway-bound revival of JEKYLL & HYDE: THE MUSICAL, in which she co-stars with Tony nominee Constantine Maroulis and Grammy nominated pop star Deborah Cox. The show will play a limited 3-week engagement at the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood from February 12 to March 3. Acclaimed singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Carrie Rodriguez will embark on an extensive U.S. tour in support of her fifth full-length solo album Give Me All You Got, set for release January 22 on Ninth Street Opus. The LP is the follow-up to 2010's Love and Circumstance, which No Depression hailed as "an album you do not want to miss." In anticipation Rodriguez recently stopped by West Virginia Public Broadcasting's "Mountain Stage" to record a set that is scheduled to begin airing nationwide March 15. The eighth annual Mission Creek Festival returns April 2-7, 2013. The six-day event takes over music venues and art spaces in downtown Iowa City, creating a community-wide celebration of music, literature, and food.
