Tufts University will honor Oliver Platt at the 6th Annual P.T. Barnum Awards For Excellence in Entertainment June 7. The event has been entitled 'From Ballou to Broadway' and will take place at the Stanley H. Kaplan Penthouse at Lincoln Center.

Kevin Bacon will join Steve Carell in an untitled Dan Fogelman-Steve Carell project, according to The Hollywood Reporter. John Requa and Glenn Ficarra will direct the movie for Warner Bros. Filming will begin in late April.

Tony Award winner Faith Prince will be recording a live CD during her stint at Palm Beach's Royal Room at the Colony Hotel from April 13-16. This will be the performer's fifth engagement at the Royal Room.

Tony® Award winner Faith Prince will end her return to the Center on April 11 in Samueli Theater. Prince has been dazzling Broadway audiences since she swept the theater awards, winning the Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her performance as Ms. Adelaide in the critically-acclaimed revival of Guys and Dolls. In 2008, she was nominated for Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for A Catered Affair. This is Prince's second visit to the Center, following her debut here in February 2008. She replaces Paulo Szot who is unable to appear due to his extended run in South Pacific at Lincoln Center.

On Monday, April 5 at Gotham Hall, Symphony Space's annual Gala will inaugurate the first annual Access to the Arts Awards, a tribute to the artists, corporations, philanthropists, and others who share its dedication to providing quality arts experiences to the greatest number of people. Awardees will be legendary soprano Jessye Norman, who gives generously of her time and talents to young artists and is a recent recipient of the National Medal of Arts; JPMorgan Chase Foundation, a leader in arts and education funding, and a longtime supporter of Symphony Space's Curriculum Arts Project; and The 52nd Street Project, which offers unique arts and theatre opportunities to at-risk youth.

Within the past couple of months, he has directed Noel Coward's Blithe Spirit, now onstage at Chaffin's Barn Dinner Theatre, been putting the finishing touches on Southern Fried Funeral (which will have its world premiere production by Franklin's Bethlehem Players starting Friday, March 12) with his writing partner Nate Eppler, and he's been cast as movie director Victor Fleming in Frankly, My Dear (opening March 18 at Chaffin's Barn).
