The Highline Ballroom has announced its lineup for today, July 30 through August 13, 2012. The venue is located at 431 West 16th Street between 9th Avenue and 10th Avenue.

SOAPnet presents a two-week block of the Live Well Network original programming weeknights 11:00 PM - 12:00AM (ET/PT) beginning today, July 30th through Friday, August 10th.

The New Group has announced complete casting for Francine Volpe's suspenseful drama The Good Mother. Darren Goldstein, Alfredo Narciso, Eric Nelsen and Bill Sage join Gretchen Mol (previously announced) in this world premiere directed by Scott Elliott. Previews for the play, which launches The New Group's 2012-13 season, begin October 29 in advance of an Official Opening Night on Thursday, November 15. A limited Off-Broadway engagement is slated through December 22 at The New Group @ Theatre Row (The Acorn Theatre / 410 West 42nd Street / Acorn Theatre).

Stage and screen star Sanaa Lathan (A Raisin in the Sun, Contagion) returns to the title role in Pulitzer Prize winner Lynn Nottage's By the Way, Meet Vera Stark for its West Coast premiere at the Geffen Playhouse. Lathan, who originated the character of Vera Stark in the critically acclaimed New York run, will once again take the stage as the 1930's era maid turned movie star, reunited with original cast member Kimberly Hebert Gregory (Spike Lee's Red Hook Summer) reprising her role as fellow aspiring African American actress Lottie. Broadway vet and Geffen alum Merle Dandridge (Spamalot, Rent, Aida) will take on the spicy role of Anna Mae, who fakes a Brazilian accent for a slice of fame, and former leading lady of ABC's Man Up, Amanda Detmer, will portray Gloria Mitchell, the white starlet dubbed "America's little sweetie pie" and Vera's first employer. Helmed by award-winning director Jo Bonney, the West Coast premiere cast also features Kevin Carroll (Paid in Full, Being John Malkovich), Spencer Garrett (Iron Man 3, Air Force One) and Geffen alum Mather Zickel (Extraordinary Chambers, Rachel Getting Married).

Kansas City Repertory Theatre's artistic director Eric Rosen has cast Broadway musical veteran Wallace Smith as the Leading Player in the Rep's production of Pippin. Rosen will direct the musical, which runs September 14-October 7. Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark's Chase Brock will choreograph and Curtis Moore is musical director.

Today, July 24th, award-winning keyboardist/composer/author Kevin Toney releases an inspired project that blends traditional acoustic jazz trio music with the compositional expanse of classical movements. Titled New American Suite, the album introduces the artist's dynamic new group, The Kevin Toney 3 (a.k.a. "KT3" featuring Kevin Toney on piano, Michael Bradford on bass and Chris Coleman on drums).

Throughline Artists (J.J. Kandel, Executive Producer; John McCormack, Producing Artistic Director) will present SUMMER SHORTS 2012, their sixth annual festival of new American short plays from established and emerging writers, at 59E59 Theaters (59 East 59th Street). Performances will begin Thursday July 26th, and continue through Saturday September 1st.

PTP/NYC celebrated its opening night party on July 10, 2012, at The Maritime Hotel in NYC. This season's line-up includes Caryl Churchill's Serious Money - receiving its first New York revival since the 1988 Broadway production - about greed in London's financial district in the late '80s, directed by PTP's Co-Artistic Director Cheryl Faraone. This season's line-up includes Caryl Churchill's Serious Money - receiving its first New York revival since the 1988 Broadway production - about greed in London's financial district in the late '80s, directed by PTP's Co-Artistic Director Cheryl Faraone, and a revival of Neal Bell's Monster, a stage adaptation of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, directed by PTP's Co-Artistic Director Jim Petosa

Since 2006 The Tony Randall Theatrical Fund has distributed over $1Million to more than 50 companies. This year the Fund has announced that it will award general operating support grants to nine exceptional theater companies with a proven track record of artistic excellence and ambitious, mission-driven theater-making. Special consideration this year was given to companies committed to the development of new audiences and the production of relevant work with a social conscience.
