JERUSALEM has extended its limited engagement on Broadway for an additional four weeks. The critically acclaimed, award-winning production will now run through August 21 at the Music Box Theatre (230 West 45th Street).

Michael Riedel reports in the New York Post this morning that The Royal Shakespeare Company's production of Roald Dahl's Matilda The Musical, which is slated to transfer to London's Cambridge Theatre on October 18 of this year, is lined up for Broadway in 2013. Riedel explains that Matilda director Matthew Wachus is hoping to bring the show in then so that he can focus on moving his other West End property, Ghost, to Broadway next season.

Today, 1 August 2011, over 350,000 tickets are released for sale at the Piccadilly Theatre for the West End production of Ghost The Musical, taking bookings to 13 October 2012. Just released are the first stills from Roman Polanski's upcoming big screen adaptation of God of Carnage that will debut this summer at the Venice Film Festival (August 31- September 10). The film features John C. Reilly, Jodie Foster, Kate Winslet and Christoph Waltz in the new version of Yasmina Reva's Tony-winning play and is due to hit movie theatres in the United States on November 18, 2011.

Executive Producer Lou Spisto today announced the complete cast and creative team for the West Coast Premiere of John Morogiello's comedy Engaging Shaw. Directed by Henry Wishcamper, Engaging Shaw will run July 29 - Sept. 4 in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of The Old Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Preview performances run July 29 - Aug. 3. Ian Rickson's Royal Court Theatre production of Jez Butterworth's Jerusalem will return to London's West End for a strictly limited 14 week engagement hot on the heels of a triumphant Broadway run. Mark Rylance will reprise his Olivier and Tony award-wining performance as Johnny 'Rooster' Byron, directed by Ian Rickson. Previewing at the Apollo Theatre from 8 October 2011, with press night on 17 October, Jerusalem is booking until 14 January 2012. Designs are by Ultz, with lighting by Mimi Jordan Sherin, sound by Ian Dickinson for Autograph and music by Stephen Warbeck. Jerusalem is produced in the West End by Royal Court Theatre Productions and by Sonia Friedman Productions.
