Broadway Musicians Take Center Stage In PIT STOP PLAYERS' Inaugural Concert 2/1

The Pit Stop Players, a ten-member instrumental ensemble, will play its inaugural concert on Monday, February 1, 2010 at 7:00 pm, at the Leonard Nimoy Thalia at Peter Norton Symphony Space.

On February 16th, some of today's brightest Broadway talent came together at the legendary Birdland Jazz Club and celebrated the compositions of songwriter Katie Thompson. Thompson, accompanied each performer as well as herself on the piano, and was joined by cellists Mairi Dorman-Phaneuf and Allison Seidner.

On February 16th, some of today's brightest Broadway talent will celebrate the compositions of songwriter Katie Thompson. Those scheduled to appear at the 7pm Birdland concert include Lisa Brescia, Carly Jibson, Carrie Manolakos, Julie Reiber and Kate Shindle. More performers will be announced shortly. Thompson, whom will accompany each performer as well as herself on the piano, will be joined by cellists Mairi Dorman-Phaneuf and Allison Seidner. Katie Thompson is one of the most celebrated, undiscovered talent in New York. Katie originated the roles of 'Sariah' in THE ARK and 'Connie Lou' in Michael McLean's THE FORGOTTEN CAROLS, a role she owned for 7 years of touring everywhere from Honolulu to Washington, D.C. Readings: Giant; Piece. As a songwriter, Katie was nominated for a Pearl Award, an Indie Award, and on the MAC ballot for her original songs 'I Can Be Bought', 'It Doesn't Hurt', and for NEW YORK DEBUT - FEMALE. Katie's compositions can be heard on her debut CD 'What I've Done Right' and KT: Live. As a singer, Katie can be heard on the song 'Say Goodbye' on Scott Alan's debut CD 'Dreaming Wide Awake.'
