When the vibrant contemporary dance company, Liss Fain Dance presents THE FALSE AND TRUE ARE ONE from November 17 - 20 at the Forum at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts (YBCA), noted actress Nancy Shelby will take center stage reading the witty and unusual short stories of Lydia Davis while the dancers perform within an architecturally designed set of translucent screens.

Noted writer-director Gabriel Judet-Weinshel has started his second week of principal photography on his highly-anticipated sci-fi feature film OMPHALOS. Edoardo Ballerini stars in this genre-bending film. Compared to the cult-hit PI by indie master filmmaker Darren Aronofsky, the flick is being touted as a probable "break-through performance" for Ballerini. www.omphalosmovie.com.

Actor/Journalist Dan Hoyle journeys into the Heartland to meet The Real Americans this fall at Portland Center Stage. The one-man show is based on a months-long road trip into the not-the-coasts parts of the US and meets the real people living outside the 'latte liberal bubble' and explores what rural America is really thinking. The Real Americans previews on Tuesday September 6th, opens on Friday, September 9th, and runs Tuesday through Sunday through November 6. Tickets start at $26, with student and under 30 discounts available. Rush tickets are $20. Show times are 7:30 pm Tuesday through Saturday, with a 2:00 pm Sunday matinee and alternating Saturday 2:00 pm and Sunday 7:30 pm performances.

Monday nights have been long enjoyed by theatregoers and all of us here at BroadwayWorld.com as the night where there's more cabarets, benefit concerts and other special events than we know how to handle. The beginning of the week has gotten even more complicated now, because in addition to all of those, we're now finding ourselves rushing home to be in front of the TV at 10pm to watch the wonderful NURSE JACKIE on Showtime, starring Edie Falco. The show has featured a parade (which we hope never ends) of other Broadway talent and guest stars as well.
