Kathleen Chalfant and Kate Mulgrew will host the Vineyard Theatre's annual Emerging Artists Luncheon today, Oct. 3 from noon to 2 p.m. at the National Arts Club (15 Gramercy Park South) in Manhattan. The event will feature the presentation of the 2013 Paula Vogel Playwriting Award to Christopher Chen, a San Francisco-based playwright whose works include THE HUNDRED FLOWERS PROJECT and other plays. Ms. Vogel will be in attendance and present the award.

ANIMALS OUT OF PAPER is an often amusing, thought provoking play about what happens when the lives of mismatched people collide in complicated ways that highlight hurt and the challenges of individuals who don't know who they are or how to be in the world. The Ensemble production doesn't quite reach the quality of the play's writing, but does hold attention and leaves the audience thinking.

South Street Seaport TKTS to Reopen at Permanent Home, 10/1

Theatre Development Fund (TDF) announced that it will reopen its South Street Seaport TKTS Discount Booth at its permanent location at the corner of Front and John Streets on Tuesday, October 1 at 11am. TDF will be closing their temporary Seaport TKTS booth at Fulton and South Streets, (which opened on July 5 as part of the Seaport's SEE/CHANGE Program) on Monday, September 30 in order to move back to the TKTS location which was severely damaged by Hurricane Sandy last October. To accommodate downtown theatre goers on Monday, September 30, TDF will open its booth in Downtown Brooklyn (which is usually closed on Mondays) from 11am to 6pm.
