According to published reports and rock trio frontman Billie Joe Armstrong, Green Day has begun to work on their new album.

AMERICAN IDIOT will begin performances at the ST. James Theatre on March 24, 2010 and open on April 20, 2010. VMedia featured a story on the making of American Idiot, based on Green Day's album of the same name. AMERICAN IDIOT will be produced on Broadway by Tom Hulce and Ira Pittelman, in association with Berkeley Repertory Theatre.

Yesterday, March 11, work on AMERICAN IDIOT was temporarily delayed when a fire broke out in the elevator shaft of the St. James Theatre. While an initial report into the FDNY indicated that someone was trapped inside the elevator, upon arrival firefighters confirmed that while the fire did indeed initiate in the elevator shaft, no one was inside. The building was evacuated and no one was harmed. The cause of the fire is still unknown and under investigation.

The Character Approved Awards are a multimedia campaign honoring individuals who are changing the face of American culture. Producers Tom Hulce and Ira Pittelman announced the complete Broadway cast of AMERICAN IDIOT today. The production will begin previews on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 and open on Broadway Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at the St. James Theatre (246 West 44 Street).

Today, December 14, 'White Noise' received 2 very private industry readings at S.I.R. Studios in Manhattan. As previously speculated, 'White Noise' is preparing for a spring move (no theatre mentioned). According to an official reading invite, Whoopi Goldberg will be joining producers Holly Way, Roy Miller, and Jay Strommen. No official announcement has been made.

Today, Berkeley Repertory Theatre announced the cast for its world premiere of American Idiot. Based on the Grammy Award-winning album of the same name, the show features the music of Green Day and the lyrics of its frontman Billie Joe Armstrong. American Idiot is being staged by Tony Award-winning director Michael Mayer, who also collaborated with Armstrong on the story.

Following a trip Powell took to New England, a story began to emerge centered around a lighthouse, and up-and-coming young playwright Kyle Jarrow, already an Obie winner for A Very Merry Unauthorized Children's Scientology Pageant, signed on to create the book.
