“March is Cabaret Month” in New York gives us the opportunity to examine where we are, and, most importantly, where we have come from with this most magical of all art forms--Cabaret. So how very fortunate we are to see and hear veteran Broadway actress and cabaret performer, Karen Mason return to her roots to lovingly take us down memory lane with her new show Mason at Mama's In March at Don't Tell Mama (which opened on March 1st).

PITTSBURGH - It's going to get hot in Heinz Hall during the BNY Mellon Grand Classics: Stravinsky's Firebird this weekend, March 6-8.

Under the baton of guest conductor Hugh Wolff and with guest pianist Andre Watts, the Utah Symphony will perform Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5. Commonly called 'Emperor,' this composition is bookended with two works by the great American composer Aaron Copland, 'Fanfare for the Common Man' and Symphony No. 3 this weekend, March 6 and 7 at 8 p. m. in Abravanel Hall.

The New Amsterdam Singers (NAS), led by music director Clara Longstreth, will present New American Romantics, a program of American music featuring poems of Robert Frost, William Butler Yeats, James Agee, Robert Graves, and Thomas Hardy written by living composers. They include Dominick Argento, Donald Grantham, Matthew Harris, Morten Lauridsen, Elizabeth Lim, Ben Moore, and Ronald Perera. The two performances will take place tonight, March 6, 2015, at 8:00 P.M., and Sunday, March 8, 2015, at 4:00 P.M., at The Church of the Holy Trinity, 316 East 88th Street.

PITTSBURGH – Jeanette Sorrell returns to Heinz Hall as guest conductor and harpsichordist for Bach's Coffeehouse, a BNY Mellon Grand Classics weekend with concerts Friday, March 20 and Sunday, March 22.

Artistic Director Peter Boal has announced to subscribers the line-up for Pacific Northwest Ballet's 2015-2016 season. The Delray Beach Chorale's spring concert, titled Festive Americana, will celebrate some of America's greatest composers. Now in its 33rd season, under the direction of new Artistic Director Dr. Patricia P. Fleitas, the 65-voice chorale will perform at the Duncan Theatre in Lake Worth on Friday, March 20th at 7:30 pm and at the First Presbyterian Church in Delray Beach on Saturday, March 28th at 3:00 pm.

The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra continues its commitment to nurture new work and young composers with its 11th Annual Reading Session on Saturday, March 21 at 11 a.m. in Heinz Hall for the Performing Arts.

New York City Ballet principal dancer Tiler Peck will step into the role of 'Ivy Smith' in the new Broadway revival of On The Town this March for six performances only, while her fellow New York City Ballet principal dancer, and sister-in law, Megan Fairchild is on vacation. Peck will play the role at the following performances: March 3rd at 7pm, March 4th at 2pm and 8pm, March 14th at 2pm and 8pm, and March 15th at 3pm.

The new Broadway revival of On The Town was recorded in November 2014 for a two-disc cast album to be released by PS Classics. On The Town, which features a book and lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green, music by Leonard Bernstein, and is based on an idea by Jerome Robbins, is currently running at Broadway's Lyric Theatre (213 W 42nd St, New York, NY 10036). American Ballet Theatre's 2015 season at the Metropolitan Opera House was announced today by Artistic Director Kevin McKenzie.
