The Scintas - a Las Vegas staple for the first decade of this century - have happily found a new home at The D in downtown Las Vegas.

Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg, Museum of the Moving Image, The Jim Henson Legacy, and other officials today announced that the family of Jim Henson has donated nearly 400 puppets, costumes, props, and other objects to the Museum, which will build a new gallery devoted to Henson's important and lasting creative achievements. The project, which has a fundraising goal of $5 million, is anchored by $2.75 million in funding from the City of New York for the construction of the new gallery, which is expected to open to the public in winter 2014-2015.

WORKSHOP THEATER COMPANY in conjunction with JEM THEATRICALS is presenting the world premiere production of MY MOM IS TRYING TO RUIN MY LIFE, a new family musical comedy. The musical, with book by Kate Feiffer and MJ Bruder Munafo, music by Paul Jacobs, lyrics by Sarah Durkee, is based on the acclaimed picture book MY MOM IS TRYING TO RUIN MY LIFE, by Kate Feiffer with illustrations by Diane Goode (Simon & Schuster/Paula Wiseman Books). The musical will be directed by Debbi Katz and choreographed by Danyelle Demchock of the Young Performers Dance Academy. MY MOM IS TRYING TO RUIN MY LIFE will play a four-week limited engagement at the WorkShop Theater (312 West 36th Street). Performances begin today, February 16 at 12 pm and continue through Sunday, March 10 at 3 pm. Press are invited to all performances.

Kermit, Miss Piggy and the whole MUPPET gang will be returning for director James Bobin's upcoming sequel to be called THE MUPPET...AGAIN! Filming is currently underway in London for its March 21, 2014 release date.

Songwriter, singer, actor, and Tonight show favorite, Paul Williams was a cultural icon throughout the 1970s and 1980s. His remarkable career, including his recent comeback, will be showcased in a weekend retrospective at Museum of the Moving Image, January 25 through 27, 2013. Williams will be present for all screenings, including a new digital restoration of Ishtar (which was filmed across the street from the Museum at the Kaufman Astoria Studios), Brian De Palma's Phantom of the Paradise, The Muppet Movie, and the acclaimed new documentary Paul Williams: Still Alive.

The 30th Anniversary Edition of Reagle Music Theatre's CHRISTMAS TIME is an all-encompassing, radiant, musical holiday extravaganza. A pageant for all ages that has stood the test of time, the show features guest artists Sarah Pfisterer and Rick Hilsabeck, a cast of nearly 200 adults and children, and a full live orchestra. The Guthrie Theater today announced a one-night screening of the 1992 family favorite film The Muppet Christmas Carol in the Dowling Studio at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 15.
