Bette Midler stars in Tony Award winner John Logan's new play, I'll Eat You Last: A Chat With Sue Mengers, directed by two-time Tony Award winner Joe Mantello, in a strictly limited 89 performance engagement. Victory Gardens continues its 2012-13 season with the Midwest Premiere of The Whale, written by Ensemble Playwright Samuel D. Hunter and directed by Joanie Schultz. The production runs tonight, April 5 - May 5, 2013 at the Victory Gardens Biograph Theater, 2433 N. Lincoln Avenue in Lincoln Park. The Press Opening is Monday, April 15, 2013 at 7:30 p.m.

Virginia Repertory Theatre announces the opening of Red by John Logan on Friday, April 26, 2013 with a preview on April 25. The show will run through June 16 at Theatre Gym at Virginia Rep Center, 114 West Broad Street.

I'LL EAT YOU LAST, the new one-woman play which marks Bette Midler's return to Broadway, announces its rush ticket policy: A limited number of $35 rush tickets (including facility fee) will be available for purchase in-person at the Booth Theatre box office (222 West 45th Street) when it opens for that day's performance(s) only. There is a limit of two tickets per person. Tickets are subject to availability and may not be offered at all performances.

Tartan Entertainment, a Philadelphia based independent film company and an affiliated company of Bruce Productions LLC, turns to Kickstarter, an online crowdfunding platform, to raise 30,000 dollars for its non-musical, stage to screen adaptation of Frank Wedekind's controversial 1891 German play 'Spring Awakening.'

The Des Moines Community Playhouse play reading series continues at 7:00 PM on Apr. 1 with 'Red' by John Logan. The evening is free; beverages will be available for purchase.

The sordid tale of Leopold and Loeb is the subject of NEVER THE SINNER now receiving a strong production at 1st Stage in Tysons. According to an Equity casting notice, Sting's new stage musical, THE LAST SHIP, which has been buzzed about for an upcoming Broadway run, will get a staged reading this spring. Joe Mantello will direct the project, which is set to take place April 29 through May 11.
