A GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE TO LOVE AND MURDER, directed by Darko Tresnjak, featuring book & lyrics by Robert L. Freedman, music & lyrics by Steven Lutvak, and choreography by Peggy Hickey, opened at theAhmanson Theatre in Los Angeles.  Red carpet arrivals featured Jane Kaczmarek, Darren Criss, Shoshana Bean, Michael Arden, Obba Babatunde?, Jane Carr, Wilson Cruz, Jonathan Del Arco, Barrett Foa, Robert Freedman, Ivan Hernandez, Peggy Hickey, Jim Piddock, Marion Ross, Darko Tresnjak.  BroadwayWorld has a first look below!

Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman's Pulitzer Prize-winning play YOU CAN'T TAKE IT WITH YOU just opened last night, September 28, 2014, at the Longacre Theatre (220 West 48th Street), after 32 previews. The production is directed by six-time Tony Award-nominee and Drama Desk Award winnerScott Ellis (The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Twelve Angry Men, 1776) and will play a 19-week limited engagement. Directed by Jules Aaron, with musical direction by Daniel Bachelis and choreography by Allyson Smith. The writer, composer and stage director have all come to Michigan from L.A. to polish up the show and work with the Michigan cast on its Midwest premiere with performances tonight, September 26 through October 19. It was announced today that Tony Award-winner Carole Shelley will join the cast of A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder, which won the 2014 Tony Award for Best Musical. She will be stepping into the role of Miss Shingle on October 28th. Jane Carr, who originated the role, will play her final performance on October 26th.

The 16th Annual Broadway Barks took place yesterday, July 12, in Shubert Alley. Founded by Mary Tyler Moore and Bernadette Peters, this star-studded dog and cat adoption event featured celebrities from the hottest shows on Broadway to benefit New York City animal shelters and adoption agencies.

Founded by Mary Tyler Moore and Bernadette Peters, the event, produced by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS will take place on Saturday, July 12 in Shubert Alley (located between 44th and 45th Streets, between Broadway and Eighth Avenue). The festivities begin at 3:00 p.m. where you can meet all the adoptable dogs and cats; celebrity presentations of pets from animal shelters citywide will take place between 5-6:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

NBC's 'Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon' will rebroadcast the musical performance by the cast of the Tony Award-winning production A GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE TO LOVE AND MURDER tonight, June 26th. Other guest appearances on the show will include Jennifer Lawrence and Craig Robinson.

A GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE TO LOVE AND MURDER's Linda Cho has won the 2014 Tony Award for Best Costume Design of a Musical. New York credits include Theater for a New Audience; Manhattan Theater Company; Second Stage; NY Public Theater; Classic Stage; Atlantic Theater.

Darko Tresnjak won the 2014 Tony Award for Best Direction of a Musical for A GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE TO LOVE & MURDER. This is Darko Tresnjak's first Tony nomination and his Broadway debut. He is the artistic director of Connecticut's Hartford Stage. He has directed at Theatre for a New Audience, The Public Theater, Old Globe, Stratford Shakespeare Festival, Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Chicago Shakespeare Theater, Royal Shakespeare Company Complete Works Festival, Williamstown Theatre Festival, Huntington Theatre Company, Goodspeed Musicals, Long Wharf Theatre, Westport Country Playhouse, Vineyard Theater, and Los Angeles Opera.

A Gentleman's Guide to Love & Murder 's Robert L. Freedman has won the 2014 Tony Award for Best Book of a Musical. Freedman received the Fred Ebb and Kleban awards for the musicals A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder and Campaign of the Century with Steven Lutvak, and was nominated for Emmy and Writers Guild awards for the television miniseries Life With Judy Garland: Me and My Shadows.
