The third in a series of exhibitions about the human body in contemporary art organized by Frist Center Chief Curator Mark Scala, PHANTOM BODIES: THE HUMAN AURA IN ART includes provocative artworks that address themes of trauma, loss, and transformation, while considering the possibility of an animating spirit that can exist independently of the body. The exhibition includes a selection of paintings, photography, videos, sculpture and installations by a noteworthy roster of contemporary international artists and will be on view in the Upper-Level Galleries from October 30, 2015, through February 14, 2016.

(West Palm Beach, FL – September 8, 2015)  The Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts today added a major new concert to its 2015-2016 performance schedule:

NEW YORK, NY - Marc Dennis will have seven paintings included in a major group exhibition, entitled, Hyperrealism: Nothing is Static at the Daejeon Museum of Art in Daejeon City, South Korea opening September 4, 2015 and running through December 20, 2015. The exhibition is intended to showcase the talents of an array of international artists from over ten countries and four continents who have respectfully established themselves as leaders in their respective brand of hyperrealism.

The Museum of Modern Art presents Transmissions: Art in Eastern Europe and Latin America, 1960-1980, an exhibition on view from September 5, 2015, through January 3, 2016, that focuses on the parallels and connections among international artists working in-and in reference to-Latin America and Eastern Europe during the 1960s and 1970s.

A specially commissioned exhibition themed around local and international retail giant IKEA will form part of Warrington Contemporary Arts Festival 2015. 

Home, a new multi-disciplinary production from Physical Lab's Yorgos Karamalegos, will be premiered in Liverpool this Autumn.

Chicago Shakespeare Theater (CST) announces the cast and creative team for the U.S. premiere of Ride the Cyclone, a new musical with a refreshingly offbeat twist from Brooke Maxwell and Jacob Richmond, directed and choreographed by multiple Jeff Award-winner Rachel Rockwell. Originating as a cult classic cabaret piece in Canada, this dark musical comedy is being further developed with Chicago Shakespeare Creative Producer Rick Boynton for its highly anticipated American debut, presented in the theater Upstairs at Chicago Shakespeare, September 29-November 8, 2015.

Truscott's 'brilliantly bold and thoroughly engaging provocation'(The Times UK) that mixes humor, dance, video and p*ssy-puppetry while undoing the rules and rhetoric surrounding rape and comedy will have its longest yet New York City run.

La Jolla Playhouse announces additional projects for its second Without Walls (WoW) Festival on October 9 - 11, featuring more than 20 immersive and site-based works taking place simultaneously in and around the Playhouse Theatre District, UC San Diego campus and the surrounding neighborhood.

Acclaimed mezzo-soprano Susan Graham returns to Texas, joining Mercury, under the baton of Artistic Director Antoine Plante, for an evening of opera arias and more on Saturday, September 19 at 8 PM at the Wortham Center's Cullen Theater.  Plante says, “For this special concert we are performing some of Susan's favorite arias from Purcell, Handel and Mozart. I'm really looking forward to working with such a gracious and unique artist and sharing this performance with our audience.” 

Toronto – The world premiere of a new Canadian opera awaits Canadian Opera Company audiences this fall at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts. In a new company production, the COC proudly presents Barbara Monk Feldman's first opera, Pyramus and Thisbe (2010), performed with two early Baroque opera classics, Claudio Monteverdi'sLamento d'Arianna (1608) and Il combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda(1624). Pyramus and Thisbe runs for seven performances on October 20, 23, 25, 28,November 5, 7 (two performances), 2015.
